Welcome injury news for Bulls

Pretoria - A number of players will only be able to train later this week, but there should be no new injury concerns for Bulls coach Frans Ludeke in selecting his team for Friday's Super Rugby match against the Melbourne Rebels at Loftus Versfeld.

Jacques-Louis Potgieter (concussion), Dean Greyling (elbow) and Francois Hougaard (knee) will only train on Tuesday, but will be available for selection, team doctor Org Strauss confirmed on Monday.

Jurgen Visser, who was forced out of the Stormers match before kick-off due to an abductor strain, will train on Thursday, as will Grant Hattingh (contusion) and Akona Ndungane (contusion), who both left the field in the defeat against the Stormers.

The team to play the Rebels in the last Super Rugby match of the season will be announced on Tuesday.

The Bulls' 16-0 loss to the Stormers in Cape Town at the weekend ended any hopes they had of reaching the playoffs.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
