Strauss lauds Kings' attitude

Cape Town - Kings captain Andries Strauss has praised his team for showing a never-say-die attitude after they snatched a draw against the Brumbies in Canberra on Friday.

A try after the final hooter by No 8 Cornell du Preez gave the men from Port Elizabeth a 28-all draw.

The Kings have only played six Super Rugby matches and were playing for the first time in Australia but still managed a share of the spoils against Jake White's men, who were top of the overall standings prior to the game.

"We are a team who pride ourselves in our defence and fronting up to whoever we play against," Strauss told the SuperXV website.

"We were a bit disappointed at the start of the game, we gave away too many penalties and we allowed the Brumbies to play in our half.

"But all credit to the boys, they fought back in the last 10 minutes and we got out with a few points."

The Kings picked up three points for drawing and scoring four tries. However, they remained bottom of the South African conference.

In next weekend's action, the Kings visit Melbourne where they will fancy their chances against the Rebels (Saturday, April 13 at 11:40).
