Stormers undercooked for S15

Cape Town - Stormers coach Allister Coetzee is considering giving his players more game time next week as they prepare for the 2013 Super Rugby tournament.

The Capetonians face Boland at the Cape Town Stadium on Saturday - their second and final warm-up game before they start their Super Rugby campaign away to the Bulls on Friday, February 22.

But Coetzee is worried his players may need some more match practice and he's considering playing a practice match, made up of four chukkas, against Western Province's Vodacom Cup side.

Loose forwards Siya Kolisi and Rynhardt Elstadt and lock Andries Bekker will return to action on Saturday following injury layoffs, with skipper Jean de Villiers and hooker Deon Fourie also featuring for the first time this year.

The Stormers' only other warm-up game was last week against the Cheetahs in Bloemfontein, a game they lost 27-26.

"If the players do not get enough game time to get them sharp, then we'll have a match situation next week with a referee on the field. We can play a few chukkas and get the Vodacom Cup squad in," Coetzee told Die Burger's website.

"It's good to see Siya and Rynhardt fit and without niggles. The loose forwards must give 100%. We can also get continuity with Duane Vermeulen playing his second practice match."

Talking ahead of the Boland challenge on Saturday, Coetzee expects more accuracy from his players.

"The objective on Saturday will be to see that we get things right, in terms of how we want to play the game," he told SAPA.

"Last week against the Cheetahs we were tired towards the end and that's why our discipline was not what it should have been.

"Our preparation for the season is still in the conditioning phase but we also need to get sharp in the match situation."

The clash against Boland kicks off at 14:45 on Saturday.
