Stormers happy with 'top ref'

Cape Town - The Stormers are happy to have Craig Joubert as referee for their Super Rugby clash against the Chiefs in Hamilton on Friday.

The Capetonians were unhappy with the performance of Australian referee, Rohan Hoffmann, in their 14-13 loss to the Crusaders in Christchurch last weekend.

Hoffmann allowed the Crusaders to get away with negative tactics holding Stormers players back at ruck time once the ball had emerged.

"There are those who call it clever tactics, but it's poor sportsmanship and against the rules. There's no place in the game for it," Coetzee told Die Burger's website.

South African referee Joubert has been appointed for this Friday's clash and Coetzee is much happier with his appointment.

"Craig won't allow it. He is a top referee," said Coetzee.

Kick-off for Friday's game at Waikato Stadium is at 08:35 (SA time).
