Cape Town - Western Province and Stormers flank Nick Fenton-Wells has agreed to join Saracens in July, according to the Saracens website.

Mark McCall, Director of Rugby, said: “We have been following Nick’s progress for some time. He has the heart of a lion, and we are delighted he has decided to join us.”

Fenton-Wells said: “Everybody in SA rugby follows what is happening at Saracens, and I’m looking forward to joining a club that continues to break new ground in so many ways. I'm really excited to be joining such a special club and I’m very grateful for this opportunity.”

Can the Stormers keep hold of any promising player?

      Richardt - 2012-06-08 12:18

Sal nie omgee as die hele WP bestuur eerder hulle tasse pak nie. Ons het 'n vars direksie nodig wat lojaliteit by die spelers kan kweek.

      Jason - 2012-06-08 12:46

Luke when will he get game time????? once schala and duane are back and siya playing the way he is! I understand his move!

      Jack - 2012-06-08 12:50

He's not actually leaving the fold - Saracens, The Sharks and Stormers are run by the same holding company. It's a way to make sure the likes of the Bulls & co. can't get hold of him.

      René - 2012-06-08 13:07

@jackblack, you are AS confused as ever. MARC (previously SAIL) owns shares in BBRU, WPRU, Griffons Rugby and Saracens - Not the Sharks...

      Japjapjap - 2012-06-08 15:41

@luke- promising players?? in weepee?? hahaha only if they can get hold of them up north, they can maybe keep hold of them??

  • Edward - 2012-06-08 12:07

What the F***! Its not like we have a loose forward crises at the moment AC!!!

      Eduard - 2012-06-08 13:27

@Edward, that was exactly my first 3 words!!!

      Bootman - 2012-06-08 14:00

He's not leaving "at the moment" stupid.

      Sulaiman - 2012-06-08 14:20

I was thinking the same what the f^&k, First words sprang to mine I really like this guy. I know we have schalla, siya, duane, nizaam and elstadt and koster on the loose foward but he is up and coming.

Geez we realy suck at player management. No vision no plan. Just keep losing our young talent. Wp won't reach the heighest levels of rugby until we start managing our young talent properly.

  • almeleh - 2012-06-08 12:15

Something is very wrong when we keep loosing players like Nick. I fear the Stormers have no money to sign anybody so we could lose even more players.

Another rat leaves the sinking ship!

      Morne - 2012-06-08 12:31

NOPE, the rats go to the Bulls and the 2nd stringers to the WP "B" team (Saracens)

      stan.basson - 2012-06-08 12:34

Ag Jan Jy is seker 'n tipiese bull supporter wat suurgat is omdat 'n Stormer b span jul gat geskop het of jy snuif gom Wanne laas het jy na die log gekyk ? Sinking ship - kyk jy ooit rugby ?

      Cliff - 2012-06-08 13:28

It 's not a "FLOU TRIL" player , the only sinking ship is the Pink Bulls !!!

      cf.coetzee.3 - 2012-06-08 13:41

      Bootman - 2012-06-08 13:38

Jeez gawie but your are stupid. Dont just make a comment for the sake of it. When AC brought Sinclair in Nizaam Carr was 1st choice 8. Fenton Wells was playing in the knock-outs of theVC. AC didnt want to disrupt the VC side. Naturally when Carr got injured, Sinclair moved up in the order. He is an international you know.

  • Eduard - 2012-06-08 13:28

To all Stormers management - F-off you bunch of idiots!!!!!!!!!!

      Edward - 2012-06-08 13:56

Maybe we should hold a march to Newlands and demand their resignation, bunch of morons! They let Pieter Louw go and then call him back cause of injury concerns and now this! Poor management!

  • jeanpierre.daries - 2012-06-08 13:30

Stormers sit in loose forward krisis....wat doen hule??? Gaan voer n man van kanada af in terwyl daaaar hoeveeeeel loosies ini kaap is????? Ek sou ook my tasse pak #stormer supporter

  • paul.ramncwana - 2012-06-08 13:35

Hell no this is bull @%%$ and we go buy a fruit cake player like Jebb Sinclair. Real madness!!!

      Bootman - 2012-06-08 13:58

The Stormers didnt "buy" him idiot. Can you show me a receipt?

      Eduard - 2012-06-08 14:13

      @Bootman, they did recruite Sinclair...

      paul.ramncwana - 2012-06-08 14:32

@Bootman we r stil paying his salary so we are still spending money on him. So it's spending money for a useless player were our youngster r much better.

  • ltjvrensburg - 2012-06-08 14:02

He might also end up playing for England...

  • lunati.bangani - 2012-06-08 15:40

another talent is going overseas.Whtsup wif the stormers managment, cnt they keep young talent here at home. Anyway i dnt blame the young guns for go overseas, because chances of making bokke team ar became slim even if hw talented u ar. Gudluck young gun 4 ur future.

Call him up to the Bok squad, and cap him as a substitute. Will prevent him from qualifying for England. These POMS take our rugby and cricket talent, why don't they tap into our \rich football reserves\

  • Angelo - 2012-06-08 16:58

Just a few pointers for those flying of the handle at this point.... 1. He is only going after the the Super 15 (Im not sure, but i don't think he is eligible to play in the play offs in any case). 2. We need a promising hooker that can find the tall timber! 3. When all the injured players return he will not get any game time... thus making the move in his best interest, development wise. 4. We need a promising hooker that can find the tall timber! 5. He may be talented but he has not been tested in Super Rugby. 6. We need a promising hooker that can find the tall timber! 7. I Wish him all the best for the rest of the season and in his future endeavors. and finally we need a promising hooker that can find the tall timber!

  • Lance - 2012-06-08 20:36

Sad story indeed, but we have Koster, Schalk, Duane and Pieter Louw coming back..along with Kolisi, Elstadt..Nizaam..let's get real the Brittish Pound will always conquer the Rand and soon we will be over-stocked with Loosies. Its so easy to complain but sometimes we must first think... Other than that, we are all experts aren't we ?

  • Andrew - 2012-06-11 20:15

Good for him! Go get some experience for 3 years, come back as a top class flanker to WP! At least he will be looked after there.
