Cape Town - The Stormers are looking to bolster their second row stocks by signing Argentine lock Manuel Carizza for next year's Super Rugby competition.
According to Die Burger's website, the Capetonians are busy negotiating a deal with the 29-year-old.
Carizza, a 2.02m and 118kg giant, has played 36 Tests for Argentina and three to date in this year's Rugby Championship.
He has also represented French club, Biarritz, on 113 occasions.
Carizza's presence will be welcomed in the Cape, especially after the departure of Andries Bekker to Japan.
De Kock Steenkamp is currently the only experienced No 5 lock for the Cape side.
