Stegmann fit, Sadie ruled out

2012-07-02 13:02

Pretoria - Bulls flank Deon Stegmann was declared fit again on Monday after fully recovering from a broken arm.

The Bulls said in a statement that Stegmann would be available for their Super Rugby clash against the Sharks in Durban on Friday.

Meanwhile, the Bulls announced that centre Johann Sadie's Super Rugby season was over after he suffered a grade three ligament tear to his ankle.

Bulls team doctor Org Strauss confirmed that Sadie would be out of action for six weeks.

He will therefore miss the rest of the Super Rugby campaign.

Prop Rossouw de Klerk was also back in training after sitting out for most of the season, while hooker Bongi Mbonambi would be able to train in a week's time, following an ankle strain.

Bjorn Basson, Dewald Potgieter, Dean Greyling, Flip van der Merwe, Jacques Potgieter and Pierre Spies could not train on Monday due to minor ailments, but they would be back in training on Tuesday.

Lionel Cronje (four weeks) and Fudge Mabeta (three months) remain long-term casualties.

Please let Spies recover in time... Go Sharkies!!!!!!

      Bossie - 2012-07-02 13:22

"Barely up there" would be more accurate :-)

      Bossie - 2012-07-02 13:27

Predict sharkies will take it by atleast 10 this weekend.. Bulls simply not good enough

      harold.lloyd.520 - 2012-07-02 13:29

Don't worry Bossie, Pierre will recover in time for the Boks.

      Bossie - 2012-07-02 13:33

Now Harold, coming to the boks I reckon they should give Spies sufficient(more like extended actually) time to rest

      harold.lloyd.520 - 2012-07-02 13:44

Bossie, he doesn't need rest, he's a Bull.

      Bossie - 2012-07-02 13:47

@Blue- Any of nr 8's of any of the SA Super sides will do.. @Blue- still ranting over the B-team,C-team, E-team issue... Please note is doesnt matter which team plays against the bulls- the Stormers will beat that pink pansy team AGAIN.. like the 2 previous games this year... like at Loftus..AGAIN!!!

      sean.brady.14224 - 2012-07-02 14:22

@Bossie, considering how rusty the sides looked on Saturday that bye for the Sharks may not have been that much of a benefit. The Bulls should both win this weekend. I'd be very wary of the Cheetahs though. They come back strongly when the Bulls put their replacements on, and they are not the easiest side to beat in Bloemfontein. With the Stormers luck though they'll probably get Mark Lawrence again! There are some cracking games this weekend, looking forward to it.

Nice another Bok recovery... Sure he would be in the squad for the championship..

Go Sharkies:):) Wonder what Sadie must feel like after he reads what he said at the beginning of the season about him being fitter and stronger at the Bulls.

      lionel.kemm.9 - 2012-07-02 13:19

Sadie must care, probably feels like a real idiot at the moment.

      ray.stadlerjd1 - 2012-07-02 13:21

JJ was second sting to SADIE so he had everything to play for, just like etzebeth at the beginning of the season, both became springboks, dnt rite off sadie, he still a brilliant player

      anton.bischoff - 2012-07-02 13:27

What does fit and stronger got to do with an injury. It's like saying because i drive a X6 iwont get killed in an accident. Lionell seems you are confussed

      harold.lloyd.520 - 2012-07-02 13:28

I think a lot of Stormers players feel like idiots at the moment, knowing that they'll never make the grade at the Bulls.

      Bossie - 2012-07-02 13:29

I cant help feeling for Sadie.. such a great prospect.. and then he joined the bulls..

      anton.bischoff - 2012-07-02 13:34

@bossie watch out for his name in Green And Gold sooner than later. Maybe then your argument will be "because he comes from the Stormers"

      anton.bischoff - 2012-07-02 13:42

Blue agree but a very good prospect himself.

      harold.lloyd.520 - 2012-07-02 13:44

Bossie, it's not our fault he didn't cut it.

      Bossie - 2012-07-02 14:05

@Harold-Its not your fault your dad didnt wear protection... My point is.. one sometimes make bad decisions.. and then you gotta live with the consequences

      harold.lloyd.520 - 2012-07-02 14:13

Bossie, back in the day when I was conceived, there was no such thing as potection.

      Bossie - 2012-07-02 14:20

@Harold- ek is seker daar was al geheukelde effies..

      chaplinncharlie - 2012-07-02 14:31

Bossie in jou geval lyk dit so...

      harold.lloyd.520 - 2012-07-02 14:35

Ha ha ha ha ha ha, excellent Charlie.

      tom.tardis - 2012-07-02 17:29

      sadie - total white elephant

  • Jody - 2012-07-02 14:04

When Sadie recovers he will be a star. The man has not been on form as many small injuries prevented him playing at 100%, however he will bounce back and Province supporters will cry again by letting him go. This boy has class.................just watch.

      anton.bischoff - 2012-07-02 14:12

Agree look out for his name.

      nic.rensburg - 2012-07-02 15:30

As a province supporter I was saddened when Sadie and JJ left province, 2 of the most promising youngsters Wp will regret for many years to come that they let go

      tom.tardis - 2012-07-02 17:32

they were tired of the fans calling them C team players
