Sport24 readers back Stormers

Garrin Lambley

Cape Town - The Stormers will beat the Bulls in their Vodacom Super Rugby clash at Newlands on Saturday if the majority of Sport24's readers are to be believed.

Kick-off is at 18:10.

In a poll conducted this week on the Sport24 website, the following question was posed, "Who do you foresee winning the Stormers v Bulls clash?".

A total of 62% of the nearly 3 000 respondents backed the Stormers, with 30% of those predicting a victory by seven or fewer points, while 32% believe the Stormers will deny the visiting Bulls a bonus point and win by more than seven.

The Bulls, looking to keep their tournament aspirations alive, do enjoy some support - 36% in fact - with 23% of those fans opting for a seven-point-or-fewer win for Victor Matfield's team. Thirteen percent were confident enough to suggest the Bulls will deny the South African Conference table-topping Stormers a bonus point and win by more than seven.

A handful - 44 in total - couldn't separate the teams and went for the draw.
