Serfontein blow for Bulls

CAPE TOWN — The Bulls have been dealt a blow with centre Jan Serfontein ruled out of the rest of their Australasian tour with a knee injury.

Serfontein picked up a Grade 1 medial knee ligament injury in last Friday’s 34-20 loss to the Chiefs.

The Bok midfielder has already made his way back to SA and will be replaced by Jurgen Visser for the Australian leg of the trip.

In other injury news, fullback Jesse Kriel — who limped off against the Chiefs — has a contusion on his knee, but trained yesterday, team doctor Org Strauss confirmed.

Prop Trevor Nyakane — who had a bruised hip — also trained, while loose forward Lappies Labuschagne will only train today due to a trachea contusion.

The Bulls have two games left on tour — against the Brumbies (Friday, May 29) and Rebels (Saturday, June 6). — Sport24

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
