Wellington - All Blacks wing Julian Savea has re-signed with the struggling Hurricanes in Super Rugby, rejecting offers from the Crusaders and Chiefs and stemming an exodus of top talent from the Wellington-based side.
The 23-year-old Savea, who has scored 14 tries in 15 Tests, announced on Saturday he had signed with the Hurricanes for two more years.
Savea, who was born in Wellington, said he made his decision to remain with the squad for family reasons.
The loss of the powerful wing would have been a major blow to the Hurricanes, who finished in 11th place in Super Rugby this season and recently lost All Blacks Ma'a Nonu, Andrew Hore and Piri Weepu to rival franchises.
