Sadie to start for Bulls

2012-02-08 16:02

Pretoria - Former Stormers midfielder Johann Sadie will make his debut for the Bulls against the Cheetahs in a Super Rugby pre-season match at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane on Saturday.

The 22-year-old joined the Bulls from the Stormers and Western Province late last year.

He now gets a chance to show his worth to Bulls coach Frans Ludeke, who named a starting team consisting of 11 Springboks.

Springbok World Cup players Morné Steyn, Francois Hougaard and Chiliboy Ralepelle will all be in action.

Francois Venter and CJ Stander are the only players in the starting line-up without any Super Rugby experience.

"We are keen to see where we are at this stage of the season. The Cheetahs have had some games under the belt and will be a difficult opponent, just what we need now," Ludeke said.

Ralepelle will captain the Bulls, with Pierre Spies (calf) and vice captain Wynand Olivier (wrist) absent due to injury, with Jacques Potgieter (back) also not considered.

Teams:

Bulls: 15 Zane Kirchner, 14 Akona Ndungane, 13 Johann Sadie, 12 Francois Venter, 11 Bjorn Basson, 10 Morné Steyn, 9 Francois Hougaard, 8 CJ Stander, 7 Dewald Potgieter, 6 Deon Stegmann, 5 Juandré Kruger, 4 Flip van der Merwe, 3 Werner Kruger, 2 Chiliboy Ralepelle (captain), 1 Dean Greyling.

Substitutes: 16 Willie Wepener, 17 Frik Kirsten, 18 Wilhelm Steenkamp, 19 Arno Botha, 20 Jano Vermaak, 21 Louis Fouché, 22 JJ Engelbrecht.

At least the guy is properly trained, sadly he likely wont see the ball due to his position.

      Lionel - 2012-02-08 16:16

Jason,Sadie might just see the ball ,Meisiekind is not playing!!!!!

      Dawie - 2012-02-08 16:17

@Jason He is just so damn glad to be done with the joker Stormer team

      Jason - 2012-02-08 16:26

Thats mean Dawie. Just because we are going to thrash you doesnt mean you have to get defensive.

      Dawie - 2012-02-08 16:31

@Jason Like you've done the last 10 years

      Dawie - 2012-02-08 16:32

@Jason I have to say after seeing you I think the search for the "missing link" is over

      Jason - 2012-02-08 16:37

Dawie. That last one was actually quite good. Its always a bit of shocker when I see how many bulls supporters go look at pics of men or as you put it missing links.

      Dirk - 2012-02-08 17:13

Team is starting to look like the Free State Bulls or should I say the Grey Bulls?

      Dawie - 2012-02-08 17:39

@Jason Whichever way you want to see it, lets just say you not gonna take the "looks" cup or push Einstein of this thrown

      Brannas - 2012-02-08 17:50

@Dawie,,, Jason had a brain surgery… but the brain rejected him

      Jason - 2012-02-08 17:59

@ Dawie - what does 'of his thrown' mean? ironic you picked Einstein as your subject.

      Jason - 2012-02-08 18:00

@Brananas - ahhh how I missed you my little tranny. hows the street corner going, getting much action?

      Dawie - 2012-02-08 18:03

Sorry Jason, small mistake on my side. "Throne" But now you still damn ugly

@ Nitro r u looking for friends or wht????

  • Brannas - 2012-02-08 16:32

Now we talking. Another star in the making, Now that he is with the Bulls he wil learn how to play proper rugby and be part of a winning culture, soon you will see him in the bok jersey, courtesy of the Bulls

      Saffa - 2012-02-08 17:42

@Brannas, he will indeed be a star - once Morne Steyn and Meisie retire. Until then - he will spend a lot of time in the Bulls backline trying to do TOO much himself everytime he gets the ball......

      Saffa - 2012-02-08 17:42

Once in the 1st half and possibly twice in the 2nd.

      Jason - 2012-02-08 17:48

so what u saying is that u will teach him to kick up and unders and stand aggresively doing nothing while the first 10 play?

  • casper.bornman - 2012-02-08 16:35

Goeie span !! Go Bulle !!

      Blou-Daan - 2012-02-08 16:49

@Casper Stem 100% saam met jou, jy kon nog net CJ Stander se naam ook iewers genoem het. Hierdie is jongmanne wat dit nog ver gaan maak...!!!!

  • Pieter - 2012-02-08 16:55

Lekker man, jong bloed gaan kook binnekort!!

  • Bootman - 2012-02-08 21:04

I give Sadie 2 seasons with the Bulls before he realises what a mistake he's made. They must be paying this laaitie a truck-load of moola. Why else would someone move from beautiful Cape Town to roach infested Plebtoria. All he needs to fit in is a mullet and a drug habit.

      Dawie - 2012-02-08 21:10

@Bootman Reason for the move: He'd like to win the occasional cup in a 10 year time span

      Hoo - 2012-02-08 21:54

@ou skipper- jy weeti veeli, ne'..??

  • hvanderlinde - 2012-02-09 08:06

Still Pissed that WP let this kid go. Between him and de Jongh they single handedly won us the game against the Blues last year in Auckland... when we were 20 - 3 down at halftime. Best buy the bulls made last season.

      Dawie - 2012-02-09 08:16

I would like to disagree - I believe that was good riddance - mark my words - flash in a pan. Noticed how quickly his fame faded once he signed with the Bulls - mark my words !!!!!! JJ Engelbrecht is a much better buy !!!

      hvanderlinde - 2012-02-09 09:00

Completely forgot about JJ. Yep he is a brilliant player. Pissed about him as well. As for Sadie, only time will tell but I'll be watching with interest

      Dawie - 2012-02-09 16:04

Dis so goed ek spekuleer wat volgende Sat se Lotto nommers gaan wees.
