Wellington - Sacked Hurricanes captain Andrew Hore is keen on remaining in New Zealand for "a couple more years" rather than seeking a move overseas after his Super rugby career with the Wellington-based team ended with their 16-9 loss to the Crusaders on Saturday.
Hore and inside centre Ma'a Nonu, who have both played more than 100 Super rugby games for the Hurricanes, were told by coach Mark Hammett earlier this month that they were not part of his future plans.
Both are considered certainties for Graham Henry's All Blacks World Cup squad later this year.
"I'm still enjoying my footy and I think I've still got a couple more years of reasonable footy in me," Hore told reporters underneath Westpac Stadium as blood from cuts on his face stained his beard. "If I can find a job in New Zealand I'll be pleased to take it.
"There are options out there hopefully and I've told a lot of people I'll sit down this week and try to get it sorted. I think I still have a lot to offer other teams."
Hore said he and his family had just bought another farm in Central Otago in New Zealand's South Island.
"Up until three weeks rugby was always a game for me but over the last couple of weeks I've come to realise that it's a job and that's the way decisions are made.
"That's probably the pleasing thing about getting back to the farm, the sheep don't care what you look like and you can just chase them around."
