SA S15 trip 'getting easier'

2012-04-30 07:37

Hamilton - Chiefs captain Craig Clarke said the trip to South Africa isn't the daunting task it used to be after their brilliant 33-14 victory over the Hurricanes, according to the allblacks.com website.

The Chiefs beat the Cheetahs (39-33) and the Sharks (18-12) on their two-match SA tour.

"It's still a tough trip to do. I think you've just got to realise it's going be tough during the week with your body adjusting.

"But you know game day your body will come right. You've just got to guts it out."

Coach Dave Rennie said his side hadn't talked about the difficulties face on the bounce from South Africa to Waikato Stadium and instead praised his side's attitude.

"We didn't really discuss that over there. We thought the attitude would be really important tonight and we got that in bucket loads from the starting guys and the bench."

The only reason the SA trip is easy, is because you dont get to play the Stormers, the most formiddable team in the Super Rugby competition.

      Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!

Well, the Stormers are doing well, but I wouldn't go as far as calling them "the most formidable" side... With a few more tries (and associated bonus points), they might become a little more "intimidating".

Generaal , you can win as many games as you want to , YOU WILL STILL NOT WIN THE TROPHY !!

Chiefs play 2 games in SA and Sharks play 4 games overseas and they say that it's 'getting easier'... My gosh, SA teams have had a disadvantage for many years now and we still manage to get some of our teams into the finals!

      Dave - 2012-04-30 08:03

      But hardly ever win it!

      Blip - 2012-04-30 08:25

Sharks only played 2 games in NZ -- same as the Chiefs in SA. Even stevens.

      DSBennie - 2012-04-30 08:40

@ Blip what he is saying is that we are on tour longer, we tour for 4 weeks, they tour for 2 weeks, It is not far for them to travel between NZ and Aus

      marnusmnorval - 2012-04-30 08:54

omg you are so bloody retarded partiboi. The chiefs also played 4 overseas games.. You always point finger to inequality yet you never know all the facts.

      Generaal - 2012-04-30 09:33

Calm down marnus. Schoolgirls use language like "omg" and words like retarded. The Chiefs only played 3 overseas games overseas, Christchurch does not count as overseas. What were you saying about facts?

      robertboulter - 2012-04-30 21:33

All teams play 4 overseas games and 4 overseas teams go to them. The Aussies and Kiwi's are only 2hrs apart so their away games can be split up in that part of the world. We as Safa's have to travel so far so the organisers group our away games together. Nobody plays less or more than anyone else. If you want to talk about the teams with the biggest advantage it's whoever tops the Aussie conference since they play other sub par Aussie teams home and away. The Rebels really have watered down what was a really average pool anyway....

  • Christopher Zoony De Croes - 2012-04-30 08:44

play the bulls & stormers in sa then you'll be singing a different song

      Stephan - 2012-04-30 10:22

Yes....I agree but I do however feel that the Sharks could have beaten the Chiefs.

  • Leon - 2012-04-30 09:11

the cheetahs and lions used to be tough games as well, but this is no longer the case. They have become easy tour matches. easy away wins. the cheetahs seem to show some character but after saturday they wont be trusted again.

  • Paul Botha - 2012-04-30 13:57

They didn't play the top two teams in Sa that's why they have a mouth full!
