So, if the Sharks win against the Reds, then it's back to Cape Town to play the Stormers - if they win that game, then it's back to NZ to play the Chiefs or the Crusaders in the final (assuming that the the Bulls lose their match). TRAVEL OVERLOAD !!!!!

      stephen.eriksenmiller - 2012-07-17 08:58

This playoff system has not really been thought out very carefully. How can any team hope to win after that kind of travelling? Ludicrous

      tom.tardis - 2012-07-17 09:12

      Ludakris

      steyts - 2012-07-17 09:22

They should end higher on the log if they don't want tom travel... It's only fair to the teams who ends on top to play at home and not have to travel...

      brandon.styles.14 - 2012-07-17 09:42

Don't worry mate. The final will be between the Bulls and Sharks. This will cut some traveling time. BTW, Bulls to take the title AGAIN..

      jason.children - 2012-07-17 10:07

@Brandon love your enthusiasm but I doubt that will be the final very much! More than likely it will be a Chiefs Stormer's final at Newlands!

      lionel.kemm.9 - 2012-07-17 10:08

@Jason,with the Stormers taking the title:):):)

      jason.children - 2012-07-17 10:18

Naturally, but i didnt want to start a Troll tirade.

      lionel.kemm.9 - 2012-07-17 10:20

Ja true, its actually peacefu on herel with them all in there holes hibernating...lol

      leigh.mapu - 2012-07-17 10:27

Can't see the Sharks getting up against the Reds in Brisbane. If it were in SA, I daresay the Sharks would spank them, but I digress...

      bfvillet - 2012-07-17 10:28

no if the sharks win they go to play the chiefs and if they win there it will be on to either play the winner of the bulls or crusaders vs stormers in the final.Either way they need a miracle

      jason.children - 2012-07-17 11:01

BF Fillet, If the Sharks win they play the Stormers. We are first on the log and play the last placed Wild Card that wins!

  • igenatius.bekker.1 - 2012-07-17 08:55

All SA final please guys. Thanks

  • jason.aereboe - 2012-07-17 08:58

Stormers to play Sharks, Chiefs to play Crusaders, Stormers vs Crusaders final...don't hate, just my opinion... Go Stormers...!!!

      lionel.kemm.9 - 2012-07-17 09:02

      I can live with that:):)

      cape.maori - 2012-07-17 09:05

You know what will happen in the final! As Blackadder said last year, playing at Newlands is a home game for the Saders. The Chiefs a dangerous side in Hamilton and might just klap the Saders in the semi's. Cannot see it happening, but anything is possible. As I said before, the stormers play better away from home- a sell out crowd at newlands will (yet again) cause the stormers to choke in the big matches. As soon as they start chasing games, they are in trouble. Go Crusaders!!!

      master.payne.73 - 2012-07-17 09:57

Like we've been choking in big games all year?

      cape.maori - 2012-07-17 10:00

@Master - choking applies in the do-or-die matches, like semi's, QF and finals! Simple as that - not in pool games!

      master.payne.73 - 2012-07-17 10:04

Who made that rule? Look at the Brumbies, they choked... In the pool stage. Anything further?

      jason.children - 2012-07-17 10:09

Very tough ask for the Saders to Beat the bulls, travel to the Chiefs beat them and then fly out to SA to pay the Stormers in the final! Tough Ask indeed.

      bfvillet - 2012-07-17 10:31

in semi 1 plays 4 which will either be bulls or crusaders against stormers bulls will need a miracle to get to newlands

  • kobus.kruger - 2012-07-17 09:19

      MarkSchrade1980 - 2012-07-17 09:23

Seems your rugby knowledge is a little lacking there dude

      maakdiebulle.almalbokke - 2012-07-17 09:26

Kobus ,Die Sharks(as hulle wen) is laaste en sal teen die stormers(1ste ) speel.

      igenatius.bekker.1 - 2012-07-17 09:31

Kobus I think you are wrong here. It says "Stormers v lowest ranked Super Rugby Qualifier winner". Sharks are 6th on the log and that makes them lowest rank. Out of interest though. What will happen if the Sharks win with 4 tries and the Bulls pull off a win as well. Technically they will then surpass the Bulls on the log and it should be a Stormers vs Bulls semi then right? Or is the log no null and void and those are the positions?

      maakdiebulle.almalbokke - 2012-07-17 09:37

@igenatius,the log is null and void in the playoffs

      eben.posthumus.5 - 2012-07-17 09:39

yes, no log points from now on. Always been that way. I do agree, best qualifiers should play at home. But the REDS are bottom (points log), of all 6, but they get home Quarter, that is unfair!!! Why play for points if it does not matter?

      kevin.maree.3 - 2012-07-17 09:42

@Igenatius - no bonus points in playoff.

      igenatius.bekker.1 - 2012-07-17 09:42

      Thanks guys

  • julian.brown.5205 - 2012-07-17 11:30

We can easily beat the SHORKS, Quade or no Quade. Face reality you saffa bong heads, we are coming to get you and your low socio-economic faces will be covered in rotten eggs when our elite private school warriors leave their beautiful diamond encrusted women for a few minutes to dispose of the uneducated pretenders. We will celebrate with our riches here in Queensland and then go back to work to earn a few more thousand for the next party. THAT IS ALL...

      neserp - 2012-07-17 11:45

You gonna eat your words buddy..............fancy english words does not overcome raw talent, Reds have been lucky this season, this weekend the luck runs out!!!

      Craven Luyt - 2012-07-17 11:47

Our Prez is much richer than yours, and he has 5 wives and he is getting a new Jet. Nanny State= not being tough enough for Rugby. I hear Aus is soon going to be amalgamated with Mainland China. Chop Suey anyone? Craven

      Craven Luyt - 2012-07-17 12:03

Dear Julian, our Prez is much richer than yours and he has 5 wives and he is getting a new jet. He is going to be having mile high orgies! Nanny state= not tough enough for rugby. When is Aus going to amalgamate with mainland China? Chop Suey anyone? Craven

  • dave.short.102 - 2012-07-17 12:50

Guys can the sharks face stormers in final? Or can they only meet in the semies?

      Enrico Capazorio - 2012-07-17 13:40

Dave they can only potentially meet in a semi-final. The only way we can have an all SA final is if the Bulls beat the saders and chiefs in consecutive games. A tough ask but certainly not impossible.

      lean.sadie - 2012-07-17 14:00

Just Semi. Not rocket science. 1 Always plays lowest ranked team. In this case 6 (Sharks), 5 (Bulls) or 4 (Saders). in that order. So if sharks win, they play Stormers. If they lose, winner of Bulls, Saders game plays Stormers.

      tom.tardis - 2012-07-17 17:02

  • julian.brown.5205 - 2012-07-17 14:40

Have the Sharks ever won the Super Rugby competition ??.If so my apologies .The Sharks will get beaten solidly. They are missing lambie and playing at Suncorp, no chance! I like JP Peitersen..Very dangerous ballrunner , But the rest continually under-perform away from home (or is it overperform at home). The Crusaders will beat the Bulls easily. Then the Reds will beat the Chiefs. We've already flogged them this year, and we go alright playing away in Waikato. Chiefs are on a string of losses, and their true colours are coming through. Crusaders will beat Stormers in Cape Town. Then home final for the Reds v the tired and travelled Crusaders. Victory Reds. AGAIN! WE ARE RED

      cavin.snyman - 2012-07-17 15:02

Julian the only way you are going to beat the Sharks is by putting the front row on the back foot and that is a very tough thing to do as we have one of the best forward packs in the competition. If the Sharks get front foot and the backline gets fed the ball then the Reds will definately lose. It all depends on the day of the game. The team that wants it the most will walk away with the spoils. Sharks forever!!!!

      julian.brown.5205 - 2012-07-18 00:33

May the best team win...52000 at Suncorp & ill be there..GOOO YOU REDS

  • julian.brown.5205 - 2012-07-17 14:57

The Reds have scored ( DURBAN BASED) Jonathan Kaplan twice in three weeks. I guess you can pencil in Bryce Lawrence if we make it to Hamilton.
