Rob Horne cited for foul play

Cape Town - Rob Horne of the Waratahs has been cited for alleged foul play during a Super Rugby match on Saturday, April 21, 2012.

Horne is alleged to have contravened Law 10.4 (j) Lifting a player from the ground and dropping or driving that player’s head or upper body into the ground whilst that player’s feet are still off the ground when he was involved in a dangerous tackle on Rebels player Kurtley Beale in the 60th minute of the match between the Waratahs and the Rebels at Allianz Stadium.

Horne was issued a yellow card on the field by referee Jonathan Kaplan, however on further review of the incident after the match the SANZAR Citing Commissioner deemed the incident had met the red card threshold.

The citing is to be considered in the first instance by SANZAR duty judicial officer Mike Heron.
