Revenge not on Bulls minds

Cape Town - The Bulls won't have revenge on their minds when they face the Brumbies in a Super Rugby clash at Loftus Versfeld on Friday night.

As it happened: Bulls v Brumbies in 2013 semi-final

The Brumbies broke the Bulls hearts when they beat the men from Pretoria 26-23 in last year's semi-final at Loftus, with centre Tevita Kuridrani's late try sealing the win for the men from Canberra.

While it would be important to have a look at what cost them in that game, coach Frans Ludeke said revenge would not be on their minds.

"We had a lot of opportunities that night, but couldn't convert it into points," he told the Beeld website.

"The scrums also weren't good and they got 12 points (with penalty goals) We'll have to be better tactically and take our chances.

"Last year is last year. It hurt afterwards, but this is a new season. We won't focus too much on the previous game."

Last year's semi-final was characterised by then Bulls captain Dewald Potgieter opting not to kick for goal on several occasions. His decisions backfired and the Bulls lost the chance to play in another Super Rugby final.

Kick-off for this Friday's game is scheduled for 19:10.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
