Reds too good for Rebels

Cape Town - The Reds have kept their Australian Conference title hopes on track with victory over the Rebels in Melbourne on Friday.

The Reds won 23-13 after trailling 13-10 at half-time.

The Reds scored two tries through centre Ben Tapuai and scrumhalf Nick Frisby. Flyhalf Quade Cooper was on target with both conversions as well as three penalties.

The Rebels replied with a try by centre Lachie Mitchell and a conversion and two penalties by flyhalf James O'Connor.

The Reds picked up four points for their victory and closed the gap on the Brumbies at the top of the Australian Conference.

The Rebels left empty-handed and remained fourth in the Australian standings.

In next weekend's Round 5 action, the Reds host the Force in Canberra, while the Rebels have a bye.
