2012-07-18 10:39

Chrsitchurch - Crusaders No 8 Kieran Read will miss Saturday's Super Rugby playoff game against the Vodacom Bulls because of a rib injury.

The Crusaders have made three changes to their line-up: Wyatt Crockett was chosen at loosehead prop ahead of Ben Franks and Sam Whitelock at lock ahead of Tom Donnelly. Franks and Donnelly both move to the reserves bench.

Adam Whitelock moves from centre to wing, allowing Robbie Fruean to return in midfield.

      lionel.kemm.9 - 2012-07-18 10:49

So he goes from hero to zero:):):)Good luck Bulls

15 All Blacks in the Crusaders side facing the Bulls with their own collection of Boks. I can only recognise 8 bok names in this Bulls side. the rest I do not remember their names so well but I think there are more. This match could be viewed as an AB/Bok 4 nations pre-match clash. K.Read not being in the side is not a blow for the crusaders s per the author as it was known long ago Read will not make it for this match should it arise. this is just media hype. Must be a slow news day N24? [ Read missed the Crusaders' final regular season match against the Western Force with the same injury last weekend and has yet to recover full fitness.] So With McCaw at No 8 it adds another skills option to give the Bulls another headache. Who would the Bulls prefer, McCaw or Read at the back? They are both a danger to the opposition with McCaw a tad more so. The article should read: McCaw at No 8 a blow to the Bulls

  • didi.basson - 2012-07-18 10:54

Ek hoop die Bulls kan die een deurtrek, maar ek kan nie sien dat hulle die Crusaders sal klop met hulle huidige spel nie.

      cape.maori - 2012-07-18 10:54

Anything can happen in 80 minutes!

  • cape.maori - 2012-07-18 10:54

Indeed a big blow to the Saders! McCaw on 8. I sense that Lionel Kerm does not want his stormers to face the Saders in the semi's! I wonder why. Go Crusaders!

      Stormkaap - 2012-07-18 11:09

Now is the time for Spies to shine!!! The Bulls should be glad he is not playing

      jason.children - 2012-07-18 11:12

@StormKaap I love the way you used the word Spies and Shine in the same sentence! Very clever indeed!

      Stormkaap - 2012-07-18 11:26

Jason he is indeed due for some Brasso and elbow grease

      lionel.kemm.9 - 2012-07-18 11:37

Maori, are you talking about me,Spelling lessons are free of charge for you. Bring who you like to Newlands buddy

      niel.walt - 2012-07-18 11:42

Yes! Bring anyone, the stormers can play anyone to sleep and sneak some penalties past them while they napping...

      cape.maori - 2012-07-18 11:43

@Lionel - don't be so sensitive Mr Kerm. I trust that the Reds will klap the Sharks and the Saders the bulls so that we can have a repeat of last year's semi. I said a few weeks ago that a Saders-Chiefs final in NZ.

      niel.walt - 2012-07-18 12:14

The chiefs aren't mentally strong enough for finals rugby.

      cape.maori - 2012-07-18 12:27

@Niel - I think you make a valid point on the Chief's mental approach to knock out games.

      niel.walt - 2012-07-18 12:40

That final against the bulls will come back to haunt them, real pitty that kahui isn't fit, wouldve just added that bit extra. But if they can fire and cruden is on song, I don't see anyone beating them.

      paul.sdoow - 2012-07-18 12:46

lionel, Jason we know its a blow for crusaders but i suspect cape M thinks of a different blow should they play at newlands. and as for a repeat should the sharks and bulls lose. i doubt they will beat stormers . stormers km how to beat the nz sheer now.

  • david.s.duncan.1 - 2012-07-18 11:11

Very big blow for the Saders, will be easier to keep them behind the advantage line now. Target Fruean's channel. Good luck Bulls, prove everyone wrong

      niel.walt - 2012-07-18 11:14

That's a brilliant idea! Run at a 113kg freightrain, I'm sure meisiekind and morne will be very excited about that plan.

      david.s.duncan.1 - 2012-07-18 11:20

Fruean, though brilliant on attack, is known to be a bit leaky on defense. If you don't agree, take it up with Tony Johnson

      niel.walt - 2012-07-18 11:30

Still plays inbetween 3 good defenders. He will leak tries against skillfull players, doubt if potgieter en co running straight at him is gona be a bother

  • dave.short.102 - 2012-07-18 11:49

Bulls and Sharks can make us proud!!! Think the sharks chances are better but yea we are behind you blokes!!!

  • Jandl Reevo Reeves - 2012-07-18 12:33

I wish the bulls luck but I think they in for a big bash.....to many of their players are out of form

      tom.tardis - 2012-07-18 14:07

bash plays for the stormers. what a gay nickname...bash. it is cape town i suppose

the bulls beating the saders???....BULL CRAP..!! This is a sad case of too far and too dumb. The saders have a decided mental edge over the bulls...how many times were they beat by the bulls in Saderville....? exactly..!!
