Cape Town - Blues utility back Rene Ranger will play for Montpellier in the Top 14 after the current Super Rugby season, according to reports out of France.

Ranger has three All Black Test caps to his name - all from 2010.

Ranger has been linked to a French club move since missing out on the All Blacks' 2011 Rugby World Cup squad.

Ranger scored in the Blues' opening Super Rugby win against the Hurricanes last weekend.

Montpellier are currently fifth in the latest Top 14 standings.
