    Pollard: Sharks will be desperate

    2015-04-17 12:56

Pretoria - Bulls flyhalf Handre Pollard says the Sharks will be a tough challenge in Durban on Saturday because the hosts will be desperate for victory.

The Bulls have been in good form in recent weeks, winning five of their past six Super Rugby clashes.

They will now travel to Kings Park in Durban, where they will face the Sharks, who are currently on a two-match losing streak.

However, Pollard believes this weekend’s South African derby will be one of the toughest fixtures of the Bulls’ season.

“The Sharks will be desperate for the win. They will use this opportunity to prove a point after a few disappointing results,” Pollard told

“It’s going to be tough to go to Durban and get the win. The Sharks are a good team. But if we play to our potential and focus on our game plan, we will put ourselves in a good position to beat them.”

Pollard credits for the improved team chemistry for their impressive run of form.

“At the start of the season, we had a few new guys in the team and some young players joined the senior squad. We just needed time to understand each other and gel as a unit,” explained Pollard.

“From the third round, there were many improvements. The players are happy with the recent results, and we’re determined to continue our good form.”

Kick-off for Saturday’s clash at Kings Park kicks off at 17:05.
