Nyakane set for first start

Cape Town - Springbok prop Trevor Nyakane is likely to start his first game for the Cheetahs in this year's Super Rugby competition.

The Cheetahs play their seventh game of the season when they host the Chiefs on Saturday, and according to the Volksblad website, Nyakane may finally get a starting role in 2014.

Coenie Oosthuizen, who withdrew from the Cheetahs' Australasian tour a few weeks back with a neck injury, is expected to return from the bench.

He will await word from a specialist on Tuesday in order to be available.

The other prop, Caylib Oosthuizen, is struggling with a hamstring injury and will be given until Friday to prove his fitness, which means Nyakane will likely get a starting role.

Specialist tighthead Maks van Dyk is expected to stay in his starting role, with Rossouw de Klerk on the bench.

Kick-off at the Free State Stadium is at 15:00 on Saturday.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
