Wellington - According to Rugby365's website All Black centre Ma'a Nonu could be making a return to the Hurricanes next year after holding talks with coach Mark Hammett.
Hammett has confirmed that he met with Nonu earlier in the week.
Nonu fell out with the coach in 2011 and was deemed surplus to the Hurricanes team's requirements after reports of disruptive behaviour in the Hurricanes' camp, in a purge that also saw Piri Weepu and Andrew Hore leave the union.
Nonu has spent subsequent seasons at the Blues (2012) and Highlanders (2013) since his departure.
Hammett refused to reveal what was discussed at the meeting.
"I had a meeting with Ma'a, as requested by him actually, and that conversation's private and will remain private until there's any information to give out," Hammett told Newstalk ZB.
"I can't comment on (the meeting) but you guys will find out."
The Hurricanes are considered to be the front-runner to secure Nonu's services for the 2014 season.
