Steyn is Bulls' 'Bumble Bee'

Pretoria - "Bumble Bee" for the best player. "Ant" for the most potent back. "Sniper" for the player making the most tackles. That is some of the accolades given by the Bulls' management to players who perform well after Super Rugby games.

This week, flyhalf Morné Steyn walked away with the "Bumble Bee" award for his overall contribution in his side’s 61-8 demolition of the Reds at Loftus Versfeld over the weekend.

According to the Bulls website, the "Bumble Bee" is awarded by team management after a review of each game to the player who contributed most to the team’s performance.

Steyn's 100% kicking record, in which he slotted five conversions and three penalties, excellent tactical kicking, passing game and solid defence gave him the nod where a massive performance was given by all Bulls players.

The men from Pretoria will travel to Cape Town later this week to take on the Stormers at Newlands on Saturday night.

Other awards awarded:

Hitman (biggest tackle of the day): Dean Greyling
Bison (most cleans): Werner Kruger (21 in 55 minutes)
Sniper (most tackles): Jacques Potgieter (12 in 61 minutes)
Ant (Best back): Akona Ndungane
Workhorse (highest work rate): CJ Stander
