Mixed news for Stormers

2012-05-04 15:10

Cape Town - Coach Allister Coetzee on Friday confirmed that Gio Aplon (hamstring), Eben Etzebeth (shoulder), Jean de Villiers (wrist), Andries Bekker (back), have all recovered from their injuries and will be available for selection against the Cheetahs next Saturday.

However, Schalk Burger, Duane Vermeulen and Nick Koster (all knee injuries) are only expected to return only after the June break (on June 30 against the Lions).

“We are in a good position at the moment, but it can all be quickly undone. The next four games are crucial to our campaign and our focus is fully on the Cheetahs next week.” said Coetzee.

“We are really looking forward to playing in front of the Newlands crowd again. Our time on tour was good, but there is really nothing like playing in front of our home fans. Newlands is a special place and the guys feed off that energy.”

The Stormers have a bye this weekend and play the Cheetahs at Newlands next Saturday, May 12 at 19:10.

    Who are the Stormers again?

      David - 2012-05-04 16:21

The team from the Province that has won more trophies than anybody else including the pinky winkies from Tswane City in Tswane Province.

      Chris - 2012-05-04 16:26

Jy vergeet baie gou. Groete

      Blouvitrioel - 2012-05-04 17:06

Chris, goedgemanierde ondersteuners? Wanneer laas was jy op Nuweland? Bul groete.

      Stormsaam - 2012-05-04 17:34

@David Really, would you mind giving me the stats from 1948 when the Bulls joined the Currie Cup? Just to help you: Bulls 23 CC, WP 16 Bulls 3 Supers, Stormers 0 (yes I know, that is really ZERO) Bulls 4 Vodacom cups, WP 0 (once again, that is really ZERO) Lekker slapies

      Tokolos - 2012-05-05 09:27

Die Kaapies is Chokers of world rugby!!! Wannabe's of South African rugby

      Jack - 2012-05-05 14:28

@skommelsaam - The vlou nulle only began in 48 because they couldn't even qualify before then!

  • Blouvitrioel - 2012-05-04 15:12

    Wiele kom af. Bul groete.

      Elroy - 2012-05-04 15:20

Stormers Groete!

      pieter.thefuture - 2012-05-04 15:36

@fake stormkaap - you cannot be considered the jokers of world rugby until you end dead last in the super rugby competition - the bulls have ended dead last 3 times- that 3 times more than the stormers, and second to last twice - two times more than the stormers.

      Bergelmir - 2012-05-04 16:40

      @ stormsaam bulls het 3 keer laaste geeindig in super 12... ...LAUGHING STOCK... 2002 .. 12th 2001 .. 12th 2000 .. 11th 1999 .. 12th 1998 .. 11th

      Bergelmir - 2012-05-04 16:49

      Chris - 2012-05-04 17:00

  • Grant - 2012-05-04 16:00

Have to get F Louw a sap to fortify those loose forwards.....come on Stormers...make the deal !

      Paul - 2012-05-05 07:49

would be nice but i think the younger guys are proving their worth and producing results. we already know burger is nearing the end and we need to get the experience to young players now befor we sit with a totally young greenhands team. solisi and carr are the future play them and rewards their efforts with contracts and incentives.

  • Anton - 2012-05-04 16:55

Groete

  • Roger - 2012-05-05 23:37

Final 6 no bs: Stormers Chiefs Brumbies Bulls Highlanders Crusaders Stormers will have to play Bulls in the playoffs-very unfair as they will have just played each other. With the Chiefs they are the top three teams in the competition. Brumbies get there as top Oz team and with Jake White raising them to the top....who knows?? Moenie worrie nie - watch net. Julle sal sien ek's reg!

  • akiralouw - 2012-05-06 17:24

Callie, Namibie
