Matfield's a dad - PICTURE!

Cape Town - Bulls lock Victor Matfield has become a father for the third time when his wife gave birth to a daughter on Wednesday.

WIN: A legendary rugby experience!

Late last week Matfield posted on his Twitter page: 5 more sleeps then it's me an 4 girls in the house. Eish I'll have to stand my ground. Can't wait for my third Princes to arrive.

Earlier today Matfield's wife Monja gave birth to a beautiful girl - the couple's third following the birth of Jaime in 2006 and Giselle in 2009.

No name has been given for the new bundle of joy.

The birth of his newest daughter could be the reason Matfield was omitted from the Bulls' team to face the Stormers in their Vodacom Super Rugby pre-season clash in Polokwane on Saturday.

Kick-off is at 17:00.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
