Bulls unchanged for Sharks

2012-07-03 12:28

Pretoria - Bulls coach Frans Ludeke has kept the Bulls side unchanged for Friday's crunch Super Rugby match against the Sharks in Durban.

Ludeke said team selection was straightforward this week as the Bulls showed against the Cheetahs that they were up to the task and were in form.

"Momentum is a very important factor at this stage of the competition and it is something we have now," said Ludeke.

Hooker Chiliboy Rallepele will run out in his 50th Super Rugby match for the Bulls, while Wilhelm Steenkamp could also play in his 50th Super game.

Pollard for MS...im sure he would love to make that change already!!! Province boytjie for "I kick miss" Steyn

      jono.qmann - 2012-07-03 12:47

      die waarheid maak seer tjomma!

      jono.qmann - 2012-07-03 13:04

he is back??? i never knew he left with the missed kicks on sat...was that not him???!!! hoe kan jy se die ou is terug? hy het weer n sitter saterdag gemiss!!!

      anton.bischoff - 2012-07-03 13:11

Jono wat verstaan jy nie van kompetisie nie, as Pollard 2013 beter is as Morne then so be it. Naas was 18 toe hy vir die Bulle gespeel het, so dit gaan nie iets snaaks wees nie. Ons is gewoond aan lekker sterk kompetisie

      jono.qmann - 2012-07-03 13:32

did he or did he not miss another kick???

      jono.qmann - 2012-07-03 13:51

      jono.qmann - 2012-07-03 13:59

      wahahaha...flou flou! lekker dag raven

      John - 2012-07-03 14:36

Not that I worry but if Steyn kicks like he did the last time he played in Durban the Bulls are in for a long evening. The problem with the oke is he just will not get injured!! This means two things are going to happen. We will not see what else the Bulls have to offer at flyhalf ditto the Boks. Jonno keep it real please - you can't take an oke out of the classroom and play him in his 1st S15 game against the Sharks. I don't care how good he is.

    Ysters !!!

  • melt.esterhuizen - 2012-07-03 12:44

Lethal Bulls?? Please guys get real!!!! The Stormers without 6 of their first choise players gave them a hiding so what is so lethal about them? A good team no issue about that but lethal?

      marschoeman - 2012-07-03 13:02

Before singing the praises of the Stormers so loudly, you must first get past a wounded Cheetah team on Saturday in Bloemfontein...

      Merven - 2012-07-03 13:05

More lethal than the Stormers. The Bulls scored 425 points thus far and the Stormers 311.

      jed.vonallemann - 2012-07-03 13:17

Merven how many of those point's where against the Stormers

      Bossie - 2012-07-03 13:18

      melt.esterhuizen - 2012-07-03 14:20

      John - 2012-07-03 14:45

@vallemj - don't be so harsh. You know the points scored in a game is more important than winning the game. Ask PinkRaven - he'll tell you.

      Bossie - 2012-07-03 15:08

  • aidan.w.naude - 2012-07-03 12:46

Lethal Bulls - look at the log jock!!!!!

      Merven - 2012-07-03 13:06

The more than 400 points of the Bulls in this Super 15 in comparison of just over 300 of the Stormers?

  • Bossie - 2012-07-03 12:47

Good news..Morne en Pierre speel!!!! Go Shhhhhaaaarrrkkkkiesssssssssss!!!!

      anton.bischoff - 2012-07-03 12:51

And the bad news you show your mentality here

      master.payne.73 - 2012-07-03 13:04

Raven, they're playing at night, so the Sharks won't have a long afternoon.

      Bossie - 2012-07-03 13:05

      anton.bischoff - 2012-07-03 13:14

  • master.payne.73 - 2012-07-03 12:50

Ludeke should stick to watching Lethal Weapon.

      kenny.liebenberg - 2012-07-03 14:57

And you should stick to watching Days of our Lives!

      master.payne.73 - 2012-07-03 16:00

      Wow what a good comeback.

  • paul.sdoow - 2012-07-03 12:51

this is gonna be a good game to watch both sides have to win.

      master.payne.73 - 2012-07-03 12:53

      Sharks to take it.

      paul.sdoow - 2012-07-03 12:58

ya but only problem is by how much. and with lambi and the Frenchman and frans s what does plumbtree do? he got too many great players to choose at the back. and hopefully mvovo gets some good ball. he not an easy person to stop at speed.

      master.payne.73 - 2012-07-03 13:03

I'm looking forward to Mvovo running circles around Bjorn "I can run but I can't tackle" Basson. I would play Frans at IC, the Frenchman at FH and Lambie at FB.

      paul.sdoow - 2012-07-03 13:03

frans at 15 lamb at ten and Frenchi on bench for when bulls need changes to re style their hair and make up.

      Deon - 2012-07-03 13:12

The Bulls will do well to score another 4 tries / to lose within 7 points, this might be enough to keep them in the hunt.

      paul.sdoow - 2012-07-03 13:20

deon that means they would then need to field a full strength team against lions again and hope they pick up no injuries? the lions won't roll over to them they ill want to put up a show for their last super rugby match

      cavin.snyman - 2012-07-03 13:22

Correct Paul, as long as the SHARKS walk away with five points :))

      paul.sdoow - 2012-07-03 13:43

so just a silly question what would the log look like then when sharks get the five and bulls don't get their usual bonus ? now that's got japjap and co on their calculators!

      anton.bischoff - 2012-07-03 14:21

@ Paul i like the word usual bonus. Point difference in favour of Bulls

      paul.sdoow - 2012-07-03 14:30

well its either for losing or for four tries. but that said the opponents also get a bonus of four tries too.

      Bossie - 2012-07-03 15:22

      Bossie - 2012-07-03 15:24

Canes het n bye... damn.. 6de sal moet doen..

  • cavin.snyman - 2012-07-03 12:53

Go SHARKS!!!!!! We know you can do it!!!! Just keep it tight and ensure that our wings get plenty of ball to run then our chances of winning will be very good. It will all be up to the backs that will decide the outcome this Friday. GOOOOOOOOOOO SHAAAAAAAAAAARKS!!!!!!!!!!!

  • selma.botha.9 - 2012-07-03 12:54

I hope the Bulls lose to the Sharks and fail to make the play-offs this year. The Bulls' Springboks need to recharge their batteries for the Four Nations. The Bulls have done far better than expected without the stalwarts Bakkies, Victor, Fourie, etc. but do not stand a chance against the Chiefs or Brumbies or Crusaders away from home. Let the Sharks travel and unravel.

      Merven - 2012-07-03 13:08

And that is why women shouldn't comment on rugby...

      Bossie - 2012-07-03 13:26

Merven- was daai comment vir Selma of blueraven?

      kenny.liebenberg - 2012-07-03 14:59

I'm getting worried here. This article was posted more than half an hour ago and still no Harold. Hope he's ok....lol

      paul.sdoow - 2012-07-03 13:15

he here already he just thumbs down every comment not made by a bull supporter first then he has time to drivel out the troll comments.

      lean.sadie - 2012-07-03 15:28

No actually, Harold, Blueraven, Maakdiebulle, craven, etc etc are all the same person. They have to post on one account after the other, before they can start over again. That is why you never see a post of them at the same time ever. And they all talk the same crap, so it is obvious it is the same person. Just trying to have fun on the interwebs. GG

      paul.sdoow - 2012-07-03 16:46

interesting yes but that's it! but of those names mentioned there still bulldozer bloujob and many more that just vanished . not that we complaining either

      paul.sdoow - 2012-07-03 13:46

sorry to burst your bubble but pink is prefered colour to lose in for the bulls but home or away no difference to shirt colour for the stormers

      Taurus.Blue1 - 2012-07-03 13:53

There are reasons why the Stormers stick to ONE shirt only...

  • PieterFHansen - 2012-07-03 14:20

  • JoffeyCampino - 2012-07-03 14:54

It's a cynical world we live in. Irrespective of how brilliant the Stormers are doing it all comes down to one game, or at least a few more for others. The Brumbies have really punched above their weights, if they do win the tournament - excellent first season for Jake White (not that it is already) I guess we would all like to see that super final of the Stormers vs Chiefs - they haven't played each other, but oh well life is not fair...perhaps luck of the draw? Question is, if the Stormers are knocked out of the semis....do their fans regard this as a "successful" season? If somehow the Crusaders win the thing - everyone will say "yeah they know how to win it, regardless of where they end" Heyneke Meyer once said if you don't play at home (semi or final) you won't win the competition...fact is these guys are professional players, so irrespective of where you end in the round robin tournament any of the 6 teams can still have a chance of becoming super rugby champions... Don't count your eggs before they've even hatched

      lean.sadie - 2012-07-03 15:26

Wait somebody said something that makes sense? I Agree with you. At the end of the day any of these teams can win the whole thing. Sure the Home team has an advantage, but it is not as huge as it use to be. Dare I say, the team who plays better on the day, offense and defense would win it? No, wait others have other ideas, think the team shows up and wins, because of what happened years ago. Here come all the thumb downs.....

  • vincent.s.cupido - 2012-07-03 16:34

All I know is that my mighty Bulls are peaking when it matters as they have shown during recent times, they have what it takes, BMT, experience of winning crunch games and patient when it matters. I am not at all ignoring the fact that the Sharks is a very good team, but at least I know "Boude" (JPP) can't tackle though dangerous on attack. This should be a nice spectacle, but I belief strongly that the Bulls have the mental capacity to pull this one through, and once they have achieved this win we are surely going to compete in the semi's, I believe, because we will then have a home quarter final, which I do not believe we are going to loose, irrespective which team we play in the quarters at Loftus. Some might disagree with me but I think the Sharks are more under pressure to win this one than the Bulls, and that might just count against them, and they might get impatient and over anxious with consequent mistakes which the Bulls will no doubt capitalize on. GO BULLS!
