Ludeke happy with Bulls fitness

Cape Town - The Bulls have completed their first week of training in 2014 with a virtually injury-free squad to pick from, the Beeld website reports.

Players like Pierre Spies, Arno Botha, Francois Hougaard and Deon Stegmann took full part in training on Thursday as the Bulls concluded their first week back.

The squad travels to Sun City on Friday where players, wives and girlfriends will get to know each other a little better.

They'll be back at Loftus Versfeld next week where serious training will commence.

"Our first week of training was great," said coach Frans Ludeke. November (pre-season training) was very good and I was satisfied with December.

"Regarding January, it's important to have all the injured guys back.

"Everyone was ready when we arrived here this week and came through the week successfully.

"The focus was on the basics and to get the details right, even tough you make a few tweaks during pre-season."
