    Lions ring changes for Stormers

    2015-02-26 11:26

Johannesburg - Lions coach Johan Ackermann has named his team to take on the Stormers in a Super Rugby clash at Emirates Airline Park on Saturday.

Ackermann made a whole host of changes from the team that lost 29-12 to the Sharks in Durban last weekend.

Up front, Schalk van der Merwe, Robbie Coetzee and Julian Redelinghuys all start while Jaco Kriel returns from his minor groin injury at flank.

Meanwhile, in the backline, Faf de Klerk has been named at scrumhalf in place of Ross Cronje, with Elton Jantjies at flyhalf in place of Marnitz Boshoff.

Sampie Mastriet will play his first Super Rugby game for the Lions as he runs out at left wing, while Harold Vorster will also celebrate his first Super Rugby start at centre.

Most notably on the bench, Jaco van der Walt has been called up to cover the flyhalf position, with no place in the squad for Boshoff. Van der Walt will celebrate his Super Rugby debut should he run on.

Kick-off for Saturday’s clash is scheduled for 19:10.
