16:42 - FULL-TIME: Sharks 19-8 Cheetahs

Not the most attractive game of rugby, but the Sharks deserved their win. They remain unbeaten at home and stay on top of the overall log.

16:41 - Cheetahs launch one last attack as the hooter sounds... But a knock on on half-way ends it.

16:41 - It's just short of the crossbar. Unusual for Steyn....

16:40 - Sharks win a penalty just inside their own half. Steyn will line up to run down the clock. Some tired bodies out there now...

16:38 - The game is opening up here in the last few minutes as both teams chase more tries...

16:36 - But Strauss misses his jumpers and Kankowski pounces to sprint 60m up-field! Only a great tackle by Cornal Hendricks stops him from scoring...

16:35 - The Cheetahs aren't giving up. They have an attacking lineout five metres out, with just over five minutes remaining.

16:34 - Heimar Williams has replaced Jaco van Tonder at wing for the Sharks...

16:34 - Heinrich Brüssow has returned from the sin-bin. He actually spent 11 minutes there...

16:33 - CONVERSION by Steyn.

Sharks 19-8 Cheetahs after 72 minutes.

16:32 - TRY! Sharks No 7 Jean Deysel barges over after a great break from Tim Swiel.

That's Deysel's 1st Super Rugby try in his 60th match!

16:30 - Willie le Roux drops a high ball just outside his own 22 to give the Sharks a great attacking scrum....

16:27 - Watts misses the conversion. It looked like going over, but went just under the uprights.

Sharks 12-8 Cheetahs after 67 minutes.

16:26 - TRY! Hennie Daniller charges a Frans Steyn kick down which Rayno Benjamin follows up to score in the corner. First try in the game!

16:26 - Watts misses the tough penalty attempt to the right...

16:24 - Cheetahs win a kickable penalty after one of their players is brought down at a lineout.

16:24 - Teboho Mohoje has replaced Jean Cook at flank for the Cheetahs, while Rossouw de Klerk replaces Maks van Dyk at prop.

16:23 - Steyn converts the PENALTY from in front.

Sharks 12-3 Cheetahs after 62 minutes.

16:22 - Sharks skipper Bismarck du Plessis is off for a concussion test after his own team-mate, Willem Alberts, smashed into him. Kyle Cooper replaces him.

16:21 - YELLOW CARD

Heinrich Brüssow is sin-binned for slowing the Sharks' ball down. Referee Jaco Peyper feels he ruined a try-scoring opportunity for the Sharks there...

16:19 - Sharks camping in the Cheetahs 22m area now, launching wave after wave of attack...

16:18 - Two Sharks replacements. Lourens Adriaanse and Ryan Kankowski on. Jannie du Plessis and Keegan Daniel off.

16:17 - PICTURE

Opposite numbers Tim Swiel and Elgar Watts (Gallo Images)

16:12 - Keegan Daniel starts a promising Sharks move when he throws it in quickly on half-way. He threw that miles forward by the way. Lucky for him - and the Sharks - no-one spotted it...

16:09 - PENALTY converted by Steyn.

Sharks 9-3 Cheetahs after 51 minutes.

16:08 - Again, the Cheetahs are penalised at scrum time. Steyn will line up from just inside the Cheetahs half, in the middle of the field. He will easily have the distance...

16:07 - Jaco Peyper halts a Cheetahs move just inside their own half by calling a forward pass. The players look at him in amazement. Only Peyper saw that as a forward pass...

16:04 - PENALTY converted by Steyn.

Sharks 6-3 Cheetahs after 46 minutes.

16:03 - Another scrum penalty for Sharks as Van Dyk is again penalised.

Frans Steyn will line up, about 20m in-field.

He has - as earlier predicted - taken over the goal-kicking duties from a miss-firing Swiel.

16:02 - Sharks rhythm still not there as a promising move ends with Jaco van Tonder knocking it on out wide...

16:01 - Trevor Nyakane has replaced Caylib Oosthuizen at prop for the Cheetahs.

16:00 - Early attacking platform for the Sharks as Cheetahs prop Maks van Dyk is penalised for wheeling the scrum. Steyn kicks it deep into Cheetahs territory...

15:59 - PICTURE

15:58 - Welcome back for the second half. Watts starts proceedings...

15:46 - Frans Steyn will likely take over the goal-kicking duties in the second period...

15:45 - Oh dear, Swiel misses it from in front and that's HALF-TIME: Sharks 3-3 Cheetahs.

Not the most entertaining half of rugby I've ever witnessed!

15:45 - BLOW FOR THE SHARKS

Tonderai Chavhanga has pulled a hamstring and is replaced by SP Marais.

15:44 - Penalty in front for the Sharks as Heinrich Brüssow transgresses at a ruck.

15:42 - Frans Steyn lines up a drop attempt from just inside his own half, but misses it to the right...

15:40 - But the Sharks lose it and Willie le Roux counters by sprinting 50m up-field. He passes inside to Pretorius, who is isolated and the Sharks win a penalty...

15:39 - Another kickable penalty for the Sharks as the Cheetahs transgress after a dominant Sharks driving maul. But it's a tough one close to the touchline and the hosts opt for a lineout instead...

15:37 - PENALTY converted by Swiel.

Sharks 3-3 Cheetahs after 32 minutes.

15:36 - The Sharks get another chance for points when the Jean Cook is penalised for a late tackle. Swiel to line up a relatively easy kick...

15:33 - The Cheetahs win a penalty at scrum time just inside their own half. Sarel Pretorius takes a quick tap which allows the Cheetahs a chance to attack close to the Sharks' 22m area. They swing it wide, before loose forward Jean Cook drops it standing out on the wing...

Someone needs to spark this game into life!

15:31 - OUCH! CHEETAHS LOSE A LOCK

Andries Ferreira is on for Lood de Jager who has broken his finger!

15:29 - A promising Sharks attack close to the Cheetahs 22m line is halted when Swiel kicks it away - and then into one of his opponents who is caught in an accidental off-side position. A big sigh from the home crowd!

15:28 - No flow yet in this game. A bit of a stop, start affair...

15:27 - TWEET

Does this derby strangely lack intensity so far or is it just me? - Rob Houwing

15:23 - The Sharks almost score against the run of play when Sadie drops the ball just short of half-way. Chavhanga sprints clear but is caught before passing to Swiel who is then penalised for getting up after being held in a tackle. Cheetahs off the hook...

15:20 - The Beast sparks the crowd into life when he runs 40m from inside his own 22!

It allows the Sharks to surge into Cheetahs territory, but they then undo all the hard work when they are penalised at a ruck...

15:18 - A lot of kicking early on in this game. After 17 minutes, the Sharks have kicked 14 times, compared to the 16 by the Cheetahs.

15:16 - However, the Cheetahs steal the lineout and kick up-field...

15:15 - A high tackle from Jean Cook on Swiel gives the Sharks a chance to set up an attacking lineout inside Cheetahs territory...

15:13 - In case you didn't realise, JP Pietersen was withdrawn before kick-off. Jaco van Tonder started at right wing, with Tonderai Chavhanga moving to left wing.

15:09 - Some enterprising play early on from the Cheetahs. A promising move out wide is halted when Watts knocks it on though...

15:07 - PENALTY by Elgar Watts.

Sharks 0-3 Cheetahs after 5 minutes.

15:06 - A strong lineout maul from halfway sees the Cheetahs surge up-field into Sharks territory. They win a penalty in front of the posts as Sithole goes off his feet at a ruck...

15:03 - Oh dear, Swiel misses a sitter! Nerves getting the better of the youngster...

15:01 - Cheetahs immediately penalised at the first ruck for going off their feet - Boom Prinsloo the culprit.

Swiel will get a chance to line up, just to the right of the uprights, about 20m out.

15:01 - Tim Swiel gets play underway. Jaco Peyper is the referee.

14:58 - The Cheetahs are playing in their predominantly orange away kit today... To me, it looks better than their pale home kit.

14:56 - Good to see Heinrich Brüssow back for the Cheetahs today. They really needed him on the ground against the Crusaders last week - as did the Bulls earlier today...

14:50 - QUOTE

"He must be a bit calmer. I think he's starting to talk a bit too much to the referees," Nick Mallett on Sharks skipper Bismarck du Plessis.

Sharks won 7, lost 4; 265 points for, 207 against; 26 tries for, 21 against.
