Hello and welcome to our live coverage of this South African Super Rugby derby between the
Sharks and the Cheetahs from Kings Park Stadium in Durban. We'll return shortly with team news from both sides.
Former England lock Mouritz Botha lines up alongside Pieter-Steph du Toit in the second-row while Marcell Coetzee, Renaldo Bothma and Tera Mtembu are behind. An all Springbok front-row is named as Tendai Mtawarira starts alongside Bismarck and Jannie du Plessis, with Kyle Cooper hooking back-up. Former England prop Matt Stevens is also amongst the reserves. In the backline it's Cobus Reinach and Patrick Lambie at half-back while Heimar Williams and Waylon Murray line up in the Sharks midfield. SP Marais wears number fifteen while S?bura Sithole and Lzazi Mvovo provide good pace on the wings.
New signing Joe Pietersen will start at fly-half for the Cheetahs. Newly-appointed Cheetahs' captain Francois Uys will lead a side that contains several new faces. Uys was given the armband earlier this week and will line in the familiar number five jersey alongside Lodewyk de Jager in the second row. Abrasive number eight Willie Britz receives his first start for the team after transferring from the Lions, while former right wing Clayton Blommetjies will look to add spark in a backline that also features Willie le Roux and Raymond Rhule. Pietersen impressed enough during the pre-season to earn the fly-half jersey, while Sarel Pretorius fits in at scrum-half and will support Uys having been named the team's vice-captain during the week.
There's a late replacement for the Sharks. Skipper Bismarck du Plessis has withdrawn through injury and been replaced in the run-on side by Kyle Cooper. Monde Hadebe comes onto the bench while Pat Lambie takes over the captaincy.
