The Hurricanes claim a bonus point victory to surge further clear at the top of the Super Rugby standings, while the Sharks are cruelly denied even a bonus point.

A few close calls went against the Sharks towards the end of the game there and they can feel a bit aggrieved getting nothing from this game.

But credit to the Hurricanes who showed their class to come back after trailing inside the final 10 minutes.

The Sharks are very unlucky there, it looks like a decent try.

  • 80'

  • 79'

PENALTY, HURRICANES, MARSHALL, 32-24: The Sharks are pinged for offside and the kick means they miss out on a bonus point. What a pity!

  • 77'

PENALTY, HURRICANES, MARSHALL, 29-24: The number 10 makes it a five point ball game.

  • 75'

Cronje decides to kick the ball away while two of his teammates are down and the Sharks pay for it. The counter-attack from Smith is good as they run it up into the Sharks 22m and earn penalty.

  • 73'

The conversion attempt is away to the right. Marshall has not had the best evening with the boot so far.

  • 72'

TRY, HURRICANES, THRUSH, 26-24: There was some hard straight running on the outside and Savea made good ground on the touch line before getting a miracle offload to Thrush on the inside who bundled over for the score.

  • 69'

The Hurricanes have a penalty shot after the Sharks are penalised for offside, but it is away to the left. Cronje restarts from the 22m and goes deep.

  • 66'

CONVERSION, SHARKS, STEYN, 21-24: Another good kick from the number 12 and the visitors lead by three! Who would have thought?

  • 65'

TRY, SHARKS, NDUNGANE, 21-22: What a well worked try! They exploited the overlap superbly, with Pietersen holding up the ball well before popping it on the inside for the flying winger.

  • 63'

The home side secure the ball at the the line-out but the ball is knocked on during an extravagant back line move.

  • 61'

The maul gets them over the line but did they get it down!? Pollock goes to the TMO to make sure.

  • 61'

No try! While the Sharks got it down, there is a dubious obstruction call. It seems a little harsh. The Hurricanes get the penalty and put it out on the 22m line.

  • 60'

The Sharks are hot on attack through the forwards before they send it out wide to Sithole, who takes it to just 4m out. The Sharks then win a penalty. Unsurprisingly, they set up the line-out.

  • 58'

The Hurricanes win the line-out and Marshall kicks for territory, but gets an unlucky bounce and the ball rolls out the back of the field. Play comes all the way back to just 30m outside the Hurricanes try line. Scrum, Sharks ball.

  • 57'

Steyn is out of options wide and drops the little kick in behind. The ball rolls out on the Hurricanes 10m line.

  • 54'

CONVERSION, HURRICANES, MARSHALL, 21-17: The number 10 chips this one over from right in front.

  • 54'

There is some concern for Bismark du Plessis as he clutches he knee. He is pulled off the park immediately , but he is leaving under his own stream which is a good sign.

  • 53'

TRY, HURRICANES, GOODES, 19-17: The replacement front rower has barely worked up a sweat and he crashes over from 1m out for the Hurricanes.

  • 50'

The Hurricanes are enjoying good possession in the Sharks half but the visitors are holding firm on defence.

  • 46'

CONVERSION, SHARKS, STEYN, 14-17: An excellent kick from the centre.

  • 45'

TRY, SHARKS, SITHOLE, 14-15: The Sharks win a quick turnover and the ball goes down the back line. Cronje drew two defenders before giving it to his winger on the outside who ran around the straggling defence for the score.

  • 44'

What great defence from the Sharks! Bismark du Plessis pounces on the ball carrier, picks him up and drives him backwards. His fellow forwards ruck over and win the penalty.

  • 43'

After a kicking duel, Nonu finds some space on the outside. The home side rumbles it up into the Sharks 22m via the forwards.

  • 41'

Marshall gets the second forty underway by kicking deep. The Sharks gather and kick it out on half way.

  • 40'

  • 39'

There is a long range penalty attempt from Steyn, but it is low and to the left. The hooter goes after the Hurricanes gather and they put the ball out.

  • 38'

But the maul is defused, the Sharks are under pressure and they conceded the penalty! What a relief for the home side.

  • 36'

Cronje hears that call for offside and tries a huge cross kick, but it goes long. They bring it back to set-up another line-out 5m from the line.

  • 34'

They chip it out on the 5m line this time and the push over nearly gets them over the line! The attacks from the forwards are frequent but the Hurricanes defence is holding firm.

  • 33'

There is a penalty at scrum time and the Sharks set up a line-out on the 22m line. The maul falls apart but they retain possession. Thrush competes at the ruck but gives away another penalty.

  • 30'

The Sharks eventually run out of options and chip it through, but the Hurricanes counter well through Proctor. However, Nonu's pass to Savea goes forward and we are back to the middle of the park for a scrum.

  • 28'

There is a sustained period of attack before Jannie du Plessis gets himself over the ball to win the penalty. What an effort from the doctor.

  • 25'

There are a number of scrum resets but eventually the ball comes out. Ungerer is immediately called for offside. Marshall sets up the line-out on the Sharks 22m line.

  • 21'

CONVERSION, HURRICANES, MARSHALL, 14-10: Easy as you like.

  • 21'

YELLOW CARD, SHARKS, OOSTHUIZEN: That is the third high tackle and Pollock has had enough.

  • 20'

The home side earns a line-out 30m out from the Sharks try line. There is a back-line move and Proctor gets put through a gap!

  • 20'

TRY, HURRICANES, SMITH, 12-10: Smith collected the pass from Proctor and bounced off one tackler before scoring under the poles. What a try!

  • 17'

PENALTY, SHARKS, STEYN, 7-10: The Springbok pops it over from right in front.

  • 15'

The Sharks earn a turnover and rumble it deep into the Hurricanes half. They show great ball retention, taking it through 22 phases before they loose it. But referee Chris Pollock was playing advantage for offside. Steyn grabs the kicking tee.

  • 12'

CONVERSION, HURRICANES, MARSHALL, 7-7: That is a much better strike from the number 10.

  • 11'

TRY, HURRICANES, JANE, 5-7: Nonu was involved three times in the move and finally floated a pin-point 20m pass over the top to Jane who strolled over in the corner untouched.

  • 9'

Cronje is pinged for a horrendous high tackle on Milner-Skudder. The pivot is lucky to stay ion the field. Marshall is on kicking duty tonight, but his effort from 35m out is away to the right.

  • 8'

There is a break in play as Mvovo gets taken off the park after he got his head on the wrong side of the tackle. It looked pretty ugly, we hope he is ok. Esterhuizen is his replacement.

  • 7'

CONVERSION, SHARKS, STEYN, 0-7: The radar is working this evening.

  • 6'

TRY, SHARKS, DU PLESSIS, 0-5: The home side fumbles the line-out and the burly hooker pounces from 3m out!

  • 5'

An early shove leads to a free kick and Ungerer takes it quick. The Sharks take it through seven phases but eventually get tackled into touch. It is a Hurricanes line-out 5m out.

  • 4'

A knock-on will see the games' first scrum.

  • 3'

The visitors earn an early penalty on the halfway line, but they decide to go for touch. Steyn looks on quizzically. They win the line-out and keep it with the forwards, just 10m out from the Hurricanes line.

  • 1'

Crionje gets the game underway, kicking from left to right. The home side secures the ball and clears deep, but its not out. The Sharks press forward.
