11:00 - QUOTES

Stormers captain Jean de Villiers was in no mood to celebrate playing his 100th Super rugby game.

"We didn't play well, it was obviously not the result we wanted. We did show heart at some stages of the game but at the end it was pretty disappointing.

"The Chiefs put us under a lot of pressure, there's a reason they've been champions for the last two years."

10:31 - No doubt the Chiefs are again serious title contenders. The way they responded with two tries at the end after the Stormers got themselves back into it was pure class. Other teams would just have tried to defend their lead, but the Chiefs went all out to try and claim a bonus point. The intensity they displayed on attack was also something to behold.

The Stormers slipped too many tackles and again lacked direction on attack. Despite scoring two tries, they have lots to work on in that department still. Expect Peter Grant to start at flyhalf next week! They will also take heart from an improved effort in the scrums and lineouts...

In next week's action, the Stormers travel to Canberra to face the Brumbies, while the Chiefs play the Force in Perth.

Chiefs players swarm Tanerau Latimer after he scored a try right at the death in his 100th Super Rugby match - FOX SPORTS Rugby

10:23 - Some nice touch as the Chiefs give Latimer the opportunity to kick the conversion himself. But it's closer to the touchline than the middle of the park and he misses. That's it...

10:22 - TRY! Flank Tanerau Latimer finishes off the Stormers with a pushover try off a lineout drive.

A try for him in his 100th Super Rugby match!

10:21 - Almost another try as Chiefs fullback Gareth Anscombe sprints 40m down field. He is stopped just short. But they keep attacking... A lineout drive coming up...

10:20 - The Stormers can only blame themselves for handing the initiative right back...

10:20 - CONVERSION by Cruden. Chiefs 31-20 Stormers after 77 minutes.

10:19 - TRY awarded to Tevita Koloamatangi. TMO rules he was not held.

10:18 - The question is for whether a Chiefs player was held in a tackle before he went over to score. Referee Joubert is happy with the grounding.

10:17 - But the Chiefs are right back on attack and surge over the line... Another TMO decision.

10:15 - CONVERSION by Grant. Chiefs 24-20 Stormers after 75 minutes.

Best comeback ever on the cards?

10:14 - TRY! After a concerted period of attack, Nizaam Carr scores and the visitors are right back in it!

Carr has been outstanding so far!

10:12 - Somehow, the ball pops out as the Stormers set up a driving maul, and Chiefs lock Brodie Retallick catches it and the hosts are off the hook...

10:10 - No time for kicking at goal now as the Stormers set up an attacking five-metre lineout...9 minutes left.

10:08 - STORMERS REPLACEMENT

Siya Kolisi on for Deon Fourie.

10:08 - Stormers off the hook as they turn it over and launch an attack up-field.

10:06 - Penalty to the Chiefs after the Stormers go off-side.

However, referee Craig Joubert played a very long advantage there. The Kiwi commentators criticise the decision, saying the Chiefs had enough time to attack... I tend to agree.

They set up an attacking lineout.

10:05 - But the Chiefs are back inside the Stormers 22m area, hunting a bonus point...

10:02 - He rarely gets to prove it, but the 31-year-old Aplon has not lost any pace in the last while...

10:02 - CONVERSION by Grant. Chiefs 24-13 after 63 minutes.

10:01 - TRY! Out of nowhere, Aplon straightens the line on halfway and sprints through to score!

10:00 - PICTURE

Pitch-side view - Deejay Huia-Roberts

9:59 - The chance goes awry as Jean de Villiers knocks it on... he won't remember his 100th game very fondly...

9:58 - Stormers get another chance to attack with a lineout just outside Chiefs 22m line.

9:56 - STORMERS REPLACEMENTS

Louis Schreuder is now on for Nic Groom at scrumhalf.

Oliver Kebble on for Steven Kitshoff at prop.

9:55 - Stormers off the hook as Kerr-Barlow kicks it away to allow them to dot down dead which allows Grant to clear from the 22...

9:52 - BLOOPER ALERT!

Mishap from Stormers wing Kobus van Wyk, who accidentally kicks the ball over the dead ball line as he tries to cover a kick from the Chiefs... Five metre scrum attacking scrum for the hosts.

Nothing going right for the Capetonians!

9:50 - PICTURE

Tawera Kerr-Barlow evades Deon Fourie... (Getty Images)

9:48 - Fruean has passed his concussion test and is back on.

9:48 - Just as I write, they go and concede a free kick... sigh.

9:46 - The one battle the Stormers are winning tonight is at scrum time... 6 to 3...

9:44 - Chiefs' Robbie Fruean is off for a concussion test. Asaeli Tikoirotuma is on as the Chiefs launch another attack inside the Stormers 22m area...

9:43 - Sport24 fan, Dirk, shares his views:

"The Stormers are being robbed by the ref and he is South African. He should be taken off the field."

9:42 - I reckon Catrakilis will not start a game for the Stormers again in the near future...

9:41 - STORMERS REPLACEMENTS

Peter Grant on for Demetri Catrakilis

Nizaam Carr on for Ruan Botha

9:39 - Stormers get a chance to attack inside the Chiefs 22m area. But they look clueless as to what to do. Prop Steven Kitshoff takes it at flyhalf and they lose it soon thereafter...

9:38 - CONVERSION by Cruden. Chiefs 24-6 Stormers after 41 minutes.

9:37 - TRY! The TMO agrees with me and awards the try.

9:35 - Scrumhalf Tawera Kerr-Barlow scores under the posts. Referee Joubert wants to check for a forward pass though...

It was a brilliant off-load from Tim Nanai-Williams to his inside. Should be a try...

9:34 - Chiefs immediately on the attack when Catrakilis' kick is charged down...

9:34 - Cruden gets the second half underway...

9:32 - The Stormers will be forced out of their comfort zone here. Being 11 points down, they have to attack. But it will be tough against a team playing with such an intensity. And the Stormers are not renowned as a team that can chase a game...

What a bunch of cheats home town decision ! So typical the last guy knocked the ball ! - Rob Louw

9:23 - HALF-TIME: Chiefs 17-6 Stormers

9:22 - CONVERSION by Cruden.

9:21 - TRY! The TMO determines that the ball was knocked back by Kobus van Wyk, who was the tackler, and awards the try to centre Tom Marshall.

That's a brave call in my book. No way you can say for certain. Looked more like a knock-on...

9:20 - The Chiefs think they've scored in the corner. It looked like a knock on, but referee Joubert thinks the final pass may have been knocked back by a Stormers player. TMO to decide...

9:18 - One minute before half-time and the Chiefs continue to attack the Stormers line...

9:12 - STORMERS REPLACEMENT

Sailosi Tagicakibau on for Jaco Taute.

Aplon now moves to fullback with Tagicakibau on the wing.

9:12 - But he misses a crucial penalty!

Catrakilis not doing himself any favours... Bring on Bash!

9:11 - Great Stormers scrum as Jamie Mackintosh is penalised for going up under pressure... Catrakilis lines up, 15m out from touch...

9:08 - The Chiefs lose the ball inside Stormers territory and Aplon counters down the far side touchline. He kicks up field but gets an unfavourbale bounce. Had it gone to hand a try was on there! #smallmargins

9:07 - Fruean going to kill us in attack ! Help! - Rob Louw

9:05 - CHIEFS REPLACEMENT

Robbie Fruean is on at outside centre for Charlie Ngatai, who limps off with a bad looking calf injury...Remember how he tormented the Stormers in a Crusaders jersey three seasons ago?

9:04 - Stormers out of jail as Joubert penalises a Chiefs payer for a double movement. The hosts may yet rue not kicking for goal on a few occasions...

9:02 - Chiefs five metres out, attacking ferociously... They win a penalty (offside) and decide to set up an attacking lineout.

Stormers barely hanging on here...

8:59 - Chiefs really hurting the Stormers on the counter-attack. Playing a fast, paced, high intensity game...

8:58 - The Chiefs are opting against taking kickable penalties here. And perhaps rightly so. The Stormers have missed no less than 9 tackles so far!

8:57 - TWEET

Stormers looking half asleep on counter attack they stretching us - Rob Louw

8:56 - PENALTY by Catrakilis. Chiefs 10-6 Stormers after 20 minutes.

8:55 - Chiefs fumble the kick-off and concede a penalty at the ensuing scrum. Catrakilis to line up... about 10m from touch.

8:54 - CONVERSION by Cruden. Chiefs 10-3 Stormers after 18 minutes.

8:52 - TRY! Chiefs left wing James Lowe scores in the corner after a favourable bounce from a kick-through by the hosts. The commentators say it's brilliant but that was just a lucky bounce in my book...

But that's how you play against the Stormers. Kick in behind them...

8:52 - TWEET

Just to clear that kick up - Ref ruled the wide shot a deliberate miss, which would have resulted in a try. #CHIvSTO - Chiefs

8:49 - Cruden, with the ball set to kick for posts, spots a gap and kicks it way to the left to a Chiefs player rushing up... But referee Craig Joubert calls them back. He says Cruden did not make a genuine attempt to kick if over the posts and awards a scrum to the Stormers.

Cruden had already placed the ball on the tee...

Three points thrown away by Cruden there! Never seen this happen before in a game!

8:48 - The Stormers, with the ball in possession, concede a penalty inside their own 22m area... Wrong entry at the ruck. Cruden to line up from almost an identical spot.

8:47 - TWEET

Chiefs look fairly keen to go around Stormers rather than through them - Rob Houwing

8:46 - Stormers lineout 3 from 3 so far. Better signs there from last week...

8:43 - FRONT ROW WEIGHTS

Chiefs 374

Stormers 347

8:42 - Oh dear, just as the Chiefs again try to run from their own 22m area, Gio Aplon almost intercepts a Cruden pass, but drops the ball... He would have cantered in for a try there!

8:41 - The Chiefs showing their attacking intent early on here...

8:40 - PENALTY converted by Cruden. Chiefs 3-3 Stormers after 5 minutes.

8:39 - The Chiefs show how dangerous they are by running the ball from their own 22. They surge up to the Stormers 22m area and win a penalty... Cruden lines up from about 15m from touch...

8:37 - PENALTY converted by Catrakilis. Chiefs 0-3 Stormers after 2 minutes.

8:36 - The Greek to line up, on Chiefs 22m line, 15m from touch...

8:35 - Stormers win their first lineout and set up a driving maul... They win a penalty in range!

8:35 - Catrakilis gets the game started...

8:33 - De Villiers leads out the visitors in his 100th game...

8:32 - PICTURE

Jean de Villiers plays his 100th Super Rugby match... - Stormers

8:28 - The Stormers will be playing in their new white away kit today. The lightning strike in front reminds me of the jersey French club Stade Français played in some 10 years ago...

8:26 - In-studio SuperSport pundit John Mitchell says Chiefs to win, while Breyton Paulse is going with his heart... Stormers.

8:23 - A big game for Stormers flyhalf Demetri Catrakilis who made too many basic errors against the Crusaders last week. With Peter Grant back in the squad, Catrakilis will know that today is probably his last chance to keep his spot in the starting team...

8:15 - TWO SUPER RUGBY CENTURIONS

Stormers captain Jean de Villiers and Chiefs flank Tanerau Latimer both play their 100th Super Rugby game today.

Take a bow!

8:11 - I went Chiefs on SuperBru, largely because they are the two-time defending champions and the Stormers have had a few players laid low by injury in the build-up to the game.

Also, the Chiefs have some exciting backline players in Aaron Cruden, Tim Nanai-Williams and promising centre Charlie Ngatai among their ranks, while their opponents aren’t exactly renowned for scoring tries.

However, the Stormers over the years have done relatively well against this team (they have also won four of the last six clashes), and the Cape side seem to play better when they’re written off. So it would not be a huge surprise to me if they sneak a win, but I’m sticking with my initial prediction.

7:57 - It will no doubt be interesting to see if the Chiefs also employ the tactics of holding players back at ruck time. The Stormers were upset about this after their 14-13 loss to the Crusaders last week and have called on South African referee Craig Joubert to keep a watchful eye.

I reckon the home side will push the envelope as far as they can to see how much leeway Joubert gives them...
