FULL TIME IN BLOEMFONTEIN

The Sharks run out deserved winners at Free State Stadium.  They dominated in the first half and ran in three tries to lead 3 - 22.

The Cheetahs came into the game more in the second half, but the Sharks could just managed the game, which they did. They also managed to score a fourth try for a bonus point.  The Cheetahs scored a consolation try just before the final whistle.

79' TRY to the Cheetahs as Venter gets over on the left as he burst between two defenders.  Great play by him attacking the space between two defenders. Brummer converts.

78' - PENALTY to the Cheetahs! They take it quickly, 5m out from the Sharks line.

76' - PENALTY to the Cheetahs as the Sharks infringe at the ruck again. The ref issues a warning. The Cheetahs setup a lineout but make a hash of it and the ball goes out off a Sharks player.

74' - TRY to the Sharks!  That is the bonus point! Some excellent attacking first down the right and then all the way to the left where a floated pass created some space left where Wilson goes over in the corner. Lambie and Pietersen were prominent and some excellent handling from the tight forwards finished it off. Lambie cannot convert.

73' - PENALTY to the Cheetahs as Coetzee plays the ball on the ground. Again the Sharks turn it over.

72' - Brummer and Sadie combine with the latter finding some space, his pass misses Brummer but the Cheetahs retain possession.

66' - The Cheetahs gain a scrum feed after Coetzee detaches again. The Cheetahs clear down field but the Sharks run it straight back at them. The ball eventually goes out for a Cheetahs lineout.

62' - PENALTY to the Cheetahs! The Sharks steal the lineout, but Brussow is all over the ball at the ruck.  He adds so much value on the ground. That is the second penalty he has won today.

62' - PENALTY to the Cheetahs! He had detached from the maul, Robbie Kempson on commentary called it straight away. Eagle eyes from him and Chris Pollock, the ref. His shoulder moved off the men in front of him for a fraction of a second. The Cheetahs clear touch.

61' - TMO DECISION! The Sharks rolling maul is over the line again, with some ease. Coetzee is the man that gets up with the ball. The ref wants to see if he detached from the maul at some point.

58' - The Cheetahs cannot secure the lineout, the ball goes out for a Sharks lineout which they win easily and Reinach clears downfield.  Rhule runs it back and Ndungane knocks on after making the tackle.

50' - PENALTY to the Cheetahs as Brussow gets straight into the action at ruck time. Pretorius takes it quickly, the Sharks are not back 10m but the ref says they are. The Sharks knock-on and the Cheetahs have a scrum on half-way, they will feel a little hard done by with that decision.

48' - Le Roux puts Rhule into massive space... the pass is ruled forward. Robbie Kempson in commentary reckons that pass is fine in Australia!

47' - PENALTY to the Cheetahs. The Sharks are penalised for wheeling the scrum.  Brummer relieves some pressure with a kick to touch that takes play to the half-way line.

45' - After a number of phases, the Sharks moved into the Cheetahs 22m area, but Steyn is brilliantly held up by Mohoje.  The referee calls maul and the Cheetahs get the scrum feed after the Sharks cannot work the ball free.

44' - The Sharks have defended like trojans!  This time it is Coetzee who stops a Cheetahs move in its tracks. Le Roux is forced to kick downfield, but he kicks out on the full. The Sharks have the lineout in the Cheetahs half.

Pieter-Steph du Toit is apparently walking around, his knee is strapped. The extent of the damage is till not totally known, but the fact that he is walking unaided is a good sign one would think.
