Potgieter eyes Japan move

Cape Town - Springbok and Bulls flank Jacques Potgieter is reportedly keen to play club rugby in Japan.

According to the SA Rugby Magazine website, the 26-year-old hopes to join the Sanix Blues at the end of the Super Rugby season.

The move, although still unconfirmed, will see Potgieter miss out on playing Currie Cup rugby but he will be available to play Super Rugby. Peter Grant of the Stormers and Ryan Kankowski of the Sharks have similar arrangements with their Japanese clubs.

Potgieter played three Tests for the Springboks last year but hasn't featured for the national team since the disappointing 16-all draw against Argentina in Mendoza last August.

He was not included in the Bulls' 22-man squad named for their clash against the Brumbies on Saturday.

Kick-off is at 10:40 (SA time).
