Hurricanes' Thrush cleared

Wellington - Hurricanes lock Jeremy Thrush has been cleared on a charge of foul by a SANZAR Judicial hearing in Wellington.

Thrush had been cited for a late and dangerous charge on Highlanders reserve hooker Jason Rutledge during a Super Rugby match in Invercargill last Friday.

SANZAR Judicial Officer, Nick Davidson QC, considered the matter in terms of Law 10.4 (e) playing the player without the ball.

Davidson determined that Thrush had not breached Law 10.4 (e), finding that Thrush’s intention was to tackle a player who was legitimately about to receive the ball.

The citing was therefore not upheld.
