    Highlanders overcome Blues

    Dunedin - The Highlanders have beaten the Blues 30-24 in their Super Rugby clash at Forsyth Barr Stadium in Dunedin on Saturday.

    The Highlanders scored three quick tries and led 24-0 at half-time but only had two Lima Sopoaga penalties to boost their total in the second half as the Blues gathered strength.

    The Highlanders improved their season to six wins from eight games while the Blues slumped to their eighth loss from nine outings.

    The Highlanders remain fifth on the table and in contention for the playoffs while the Blues are effectively out of the running in 13th place.
