Hat-trick for Bok wing Hendricks

Bloemfontein - Springbok wing Cornal Hendricks bagged a hat-trick of tries as the Cheetahs proved too strong for the Griffons in a pre-season outing at Old Greys on Wednesday.

According to SA Rugbymag, the match was actually more of a training session, with Cheetahs coach Naka Drotske rotating his players every few minutes.

The first quarter of the second half was played in one half of the field, while the second quarter was used as a practice session.

The Cheetahs side ran in 10 tries, and apart for Hendricks' triple, centres Michael van der Spuy (2), Johann Sadie and Francois Venter all crossed the tryline.

The Griffons did manage one try, but there were no scorers at the ground to keep count of the final outcome.

Wednesday's clash was the Cheetahs' final pre-season outing after losing their first two games of 2015 (30-13 v Bulls, Polokwane and 39-31 v Stormers, Cape Town).

They open their Super Rugby campaign against the Sharks in Durban on February 14.
