Parkes blow for Kings

Cape Town - Kings back Hadleigh Parkes is set to be out for long after breaking his arm in his side’s loss to the Hurricanes in Wellington, New Zealand on Saturday.

New Zealander Parkes, who played on the wing on Saturday, left the field in the 29th minute of the match, won 46-30 by the Hurricanes.

Kings director of rugby, Alan Solomons, confirmed that Parkes immediately underwent surgery.

“He has broken his arm in three places and is being operated on tonight before returning home,” he said.

Solomons said a replacement for Parkes will be flown in from South Africa.

The Kings face the Brumbies in Canberra next week, before concluding their Australasian tour with a game against the Rebels in Melbourne on April 13.
