Habana in midfield again?

Cape Town - The Stormers could again pick Springbok wing Bryan Habana in the midfield for their Super Rugby clash against the Hurricanes at Newlands on Saturday.

It was confirmed on Monday that centre Juan de Jongh, who injured his jaw against the Lions a few weeks ago, will not be considered for this weekend's clash, which might prompt coach Allister Coetzee to pick Habana as Jean de Villiers's centre partner.

Habana played at outside centre in their pre-season clash against the Southern Kings on February 11 and Coetzee was reportedly happy with his efforts there.

Should this scenario play itself out, Gio Aplon and Gerhard van den Heever will be the wingers with Joe Pietersen playing fullback.

Coetzee earlier expressed his intentions to utilise Aplon more at wing than fullback in 2012.

Meanwhile, loose forward Nick Koster and scrumhalf Dewaldt Duvenage have both been cleared fit for the Hurricanes game.

Duvenage will play his first game this year after missing all the Stormers' pre-season games due to injury. Koster sustained a knock to the knee (which led to a fluid build-up) in the clash against the Kings, but was cleared fit on Monday.

Lock Rynhardt Elstadt, who suffered an ankle ligament tear against the Kings, will be assessed on Wednesday before a final decision on his participation will be made.
