Grey joins Waratahs staff

Sydney - Former Wallaby centre Nathan Grey will join the Waratahs' coaching team for the 2014 Super Rugby season, the club said on Thursday.

Grey, who played 94 times for NSW, is leaving the Melbourne Rebels after three seasons as assistant coach to work under head coach Michael Cheika at the Waratahs.

"I feel Nathan is a perfect fit in what I'm looking for to progress the direction the coaching staff is taking," Cheika said.

"Nathan has eight years of great experience as a coach in different countries, putting him well on the way to fulfilling the criteria of the man we were looking for."

Grey, 38, also spent five years as a specialist defence coach with Japanese side Kyuden.
