Despite delays ascribed to procurement and finding funds, ground has finally been broken on a package water treatment plant that is aimed at producing drinking water for Hammanskraal residents.
The plant will assist the community while the dilapidated Rooiwal wastewater treatment works is fixed and upgraded.
Some parts of Hammanskraal have been plagued by dirty water that's unfit for human consumption as a result of years of neglect and mismanagement of Rooiwal. This is because the Rooiwal plant is polluting the Apies River and flows into the Leeukraal Dam.
