I suppose a good time to blood them. Would have rather started them for the Crusaders, but perhaps they are targeting a win against the Saders since they dont seem ínvincible like they did 2 yrs ago.

      steyts - 2012-04-04 09:55

HALLELUJA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We won't have a freakin prop in the backline anymore because USELESS BROK HARRIS has finally been dropped!!!!!!! This, people, is a day to remember and to cherish!!! What a beautiful start to the day!!! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!!

      Francois - 2012-04-04 10:10

They are targeting a win against the Highlanders - the team without Harris is better. The Crusaders nearly made it last year even after all the travel they had to do. The year before that was a Bulls Stormers final with the Crusaders learning that Soweto supports the Bulls - thus either last year or three years ago but not two years - but that is splitting hair. We will see this weekend what the Crusaders are made off this year - a win against the Lion's second team (with all their injuries) does not make a team good. Bulls you go for it - hopefully the whole of SA will see that it will be good for the whole of SA for you to win as it will be good for the whole of SA if the Stormers win. Then Allister - please if you loose in this game and you could have won it, please tell Jean de Villiers to say after the match we should have won it and we are sorry for our fans. Not like it is always done; "We are happy with the one point." And work on that declaration things after half time, it is ruygby not cricket.

      Johan - 2012-04-04 10:57

@Francois - I remember a game at Loftus where the Crusaders lost the game with a try from the Bulls in the last minute of the game where everybody but the Ref called a forward pass...Had a big impact on the Semi's if I remember corrrect..Anyhow with Carter back they are a different team again..

      Francois - 2012-04-04 12:14

Johan, like stated it is really splitting hairs. I agree - different kettle of fish with Carter back and the Stormers will probably have McCaw to cope with as well. Fact is, I don't think the Stormers should sacrifice any defeat for a possible win later, like Stormkaap suggested - they must play the Highlanders to win - which I think they are doing by dropping Harris.

      Stormkaap - 2012-04-04 13:39

Raven @ his usual Bulls arrogant best... Dont forget you much vaunted experienced front row bullied by a bunch of teen beach bums from the Cape. That must really hurt. Lets see how well you guys do against the Crusaders this weekend

      Justice - 2012-04-04 13:45

steyts... the only tight head with better tackle stats than brok is wp nel… but wp played more minutes than brok and has also given away something like 11 penalties to brok’s one… wp’s also missed 5 or 6 tackles… brok’s missed none… and his tackles these days really seem to be effective knocking the tackle-ee back more often than not… brok makes a tackle every 7,71 minutes… wp every 8,26… cilliers every 11,3… werner every 14,33 and jannie every 14,50 minutes… so it’s pretty obvious who’s putting in the most work around the park… i know who i’d rather have in my team… even if brok isn’t considered for the boks… i’m very happy to have him in the stormers…

      Saffa - 2012-04-04 15:05

@Johan I remember 4 games in this 2012 season where the ref handed the game to the Stormers on a plate. See the downward spiral begin for the Stormers, like the last 16 years. Het jy al bietjie gepiepie vanoggend klein weseltjie

  • Lionel - 2012-04-04 09:53

Good team, glad Elstadt gets another go at 7.Does Brok Harris's backiline play got anything to do with him been demoted to the bench or is it rotation...lol

      Lionel - 2012-04-04 10:06

Isak, his work rate is very high but he must just stay the F out the backline...lol

      Duan - 2012-04-04 10:27

Rotation time definately - Front - Back - Bench, Front, Back, Bench...

      Massey - 2012-04-04 11:02

Lionel i agree with you. He should stay out of the backline and do what he is supposed to do in front where the battle is.

      Francois - 2012-04-04 12:15

Isak, he is a prop. Mmm maybe he should rather have a good work rate when scrumming?

      Stormkaap - 2012-04-04 13:40

@ Isak even for a prop his work rate is higher than Ms Piggy Spies

  • Blou-Daan - 2012-04-04 09:55

Sterkte stormers, hoop julle doen goed daar anderkant die waters. Bulls groete.

      Lionel - 2012-04-04 09:59

      Pieter - 2012-04-04 10:31

Julle moet nou net daai Kroesaders goed opneuk, dan sal ons hulle volgende naweek begrawe. Nie so seker of ons die Highlanders gaan kan trap nie, maar gaan close wees!

      Saffa - 2012-04-04 10:47

@Tertious - lol, it has taken these chaps a while to not only get over the Bulls snotting.....but over themselves as well. It's tough to deal with the letdown of finding out one is NOT Siener van Rensburg, when one has so confidently predicted the outcome of a game/games. (Sadly these chaps have been telling us for 5 weeks that the Stormers are going to lose, and thus far - their Nostradamus skills have been lacking.......) Be gentle with them...they know genuinely not what they do.

      Sonja - 2012-04-04 11:20

@Saffa, what are you on about chick!? You are such an embarrassment to us fellow female Stormer supporters! Having to read your emotional outbursts and childish remarks on here every single time I read an article has made most of us reluctant to want to comment or associate with the type of women on here. Show some class. Every decent Stormer supporter will tell you that for the last 5 mins of that game, it could have gone either way and the thought of losing did cross our minds.

      Terence - 2012-04-04 11:27

      Very well said Sonja.

      Saffa - 2012-04-04 11:30

And PSSSSS: I don't associate with 'chicks' who pose with their junk hanging out for the world to see....(even if they DO support the same team as I.......)

      Ren%c3%a9 - 2012-04-04 11:32

@Sonja, au contraire mon frere, we quite enjoy @Saffa's chirps!! Besides no-one should EVER take anything pers (even though a lot of them do), so relax! She's been so popular, she has actually spawned I think 3 little 'Saffas' to date!

      Lionel - 2012-04-04 11:36

Saffa, imagine if Dozey had to see Sonja's profile pic, poor soul would have fallen off his chair hehehehehe Saffa is correct,we all need to harden up and stand up for our team, sure we have had a bad run last couple of years but that does not mean other teams supporters can do and say as they please about our team!!!!!

      Sonja - 2012-04-04 11:42

...no surprise. I suppose what one could expect when you play with pigs: you'll both get dirty and they will like it. At least most of us have more to live for than just a rugby team. I am out of here!

      Terence - 2012-04-04 11:46

Rene, her chirps are not the problem. They are quite sharp most of the time. It's her total disrespect for everything and everyone ouside of Cape Town. She's got a massive chip on her shoulder. It's like she's taking credit for the mountain, beach and everything else that makes Cape Town so special.

      Nic - 2012-04-04 11:53

No! No! Sonja! Come back! Not all women on here look like rotweilers or ran away from the circus.

      Saffa - 2012-04-04 11:58

Oh dear rugby gods - an entire discussion about moi? Shew folk......I am humbled. (***wipes away 3 tears***). Bottom line: anyone taking THIS (of all forums) too seriously, honestly needs to either a) get out more b) hardenthef@rkup or c)find another sport to follow. IMHO - of course......

      Ren%c3%a9 - 2012-04-04 11:59

@Terence, when it comes to rugby, Saffa and I will NEVER EVER see eye to eye. She's just a passionate supporter really! We've had our little incidents - but hey, like I said, if anyone takes anything 'personal' they should not be here (Saffa uses another term) Take it with a pinch of salt.. laugh and move on or fight back and/or return the 'insults' - depending I suppose on who and what you are! I, personally could not be bothered

      Nic - 2012-04-04 12:01

      Yuck!

      Saffa - 2012-04-04 12:10

Correct @Rene. Why on earth people are offended by what is said on a bloody forum like this is beyond me. It could be a self-esteem thing......(another 10000000 thumbs down coming up) - but for the love of Hugh Bladen people need to pull the sticks out of their backsides and laugh a little..... @Terence - c'mon old chap - why on earth would my little CT bias have such an effect on you? We all market our hometowns surely? We all love our little corners of the earth don't we? Are you not just as proud of your town/province etc? C'mon people........and herewith your FREE thought of the day - Life really is tooooooooooooooo short to sweat the small stuff....sheeez, as a nation we are becoming as 'precious' as the bloody Poms.

      Terence - 2012-04-04 12:11

Good point Rene, but gees' she sounds like one helluva special person. Perfect in every sense of the word. I would love to see what she looks like. Must be unbelievably stunning.

      Lionel - 2012-04-04 12:14

@Nic,slow down there mate, you know what happened when the dog saw the bone,he had one of his own LMAO!!!

      Nic - 2012-04-04 12:14

So what Rene is saying is "Lack of decency"... Don't get me wrong I'm a pig myself but Terence is spot on in his assessment of Saffa. Despite her denying it the Stormers are her universe and nothing outside of it (i.e. a life) exists. I think it is safe to say she has never been beyond the borders of Cape Town...

      Nic - 2012-04-04 12:20

Saffa, you definitely sweating the small stuff. Its hilarious how your comments actually describes you :^)))))

      Saffa - 2012-04-04 12:20

My word @Nic - what a powerful being I am. To fascinate you in this way, that you take time out of your 'busy day' to evaluate me? I reckon that says loads more about you, than about me? Just a little thought.... @Bluey - I was poking fun in my original comment about how most Bulls fans predicted a 20 point drubbing of my boys.....that sadly failed to materialise, so OBVIOUSLY I am going to have a dig at those chaps........and will continue to do so :)

      Nic - 2012-04-04 12:23

      Dont mention it Saffs ;^)

      Saffa - 2012-04-04 12:31

@Nic - I don't sweat the small stuff......I do sweat the 'irritating stuff' - that would be you.

      Nic - 2012-04-04 12:33

      Devastated :^)))))))

      Lionel - 2012-04-04 12:38

Raven, you should worry more about your Bulls buddy's doing the dissapearing act.look who crept out of his hole once the joys of the Stormers win are over,Nic Nac!!!!

      Ren%c3%a9 - 2012-04-04 12:39

@Terence, I have no idea what she looks like or most of them look like! But I have an active imagination - so some looks quite handsome & sexy and so forth, others not so much, depending on what comes out of their mouths!! We are all having 'fun', remember one thing, one of these days, the Bokke will play, and then we are all 'maatjies' again!! (Except for the CT Crusader/NZ brady bunch)

      Terence - 2012-04-04 12:44

I agree 100% Rene, I also imagine what everybody look like, but she sounds so perfect.

      Saffa - 2012-04-04 12:46

@Bluey, I have never disappeared after a Stormers loss....fact :) (Unlike the various David Copperfields we have amongst us) @Rene, I lose it totally when I'm up north and the robot 'jackers' try their luck - surely it's against the law though? @Nic - put your money where your 'dislike for me is' - donate cash to the Save the Rhino fund or Greenpeace in the name: 'I dislike Saffa'.

      Lionel - 2012-04-04 12:48

We(Stormers supporters) also have active imaginations and the first thing that comes to mind about most Bull supporters is Veldskoene,PT shorts, khaki shirt, movise boep pens and with a brannas and diet coke in the hand, not forgetting the Lexingtons:):):)Thats only some of the men.ladies, well that "sous"Tannie who shouted "Jou Ma se ..."when that oom ran on the field about sums up some of the ladies:):):)

      Nic - 2012-04-04 12:55

Lionel, the irony... If I look at your profile pic I'm thinking you came third in a beauty contest, first prize went to a German Shepard with a shaven a-hole and second to your dog? ...and its Nic Nac Nac! Get it right!

      Ren%c3%a9 - 2012-04-04 12:59

@Saffa, remember we aren't run by the DA - so 'free for all' - laws only apply to some! @Lionel, we call that 'stereotyping'.... If you see all folk up north like that, remember what we see regarding the folk down south, 'no front teeth, jou ma se p....s at every second street corner, they boo 'cause they cannot whistle....' ' dis onse jaar die' 'die koppie kom weer huistoe' to mention but a few.

      Lionel - 2012-04-04 13:01

Raven, they will probably be Vaalies on holiday in the Cape:):):) Nic Nac,great chirp their mate ,keep it up,remeber to be around on the 3rd of June2012,dipstick!!!

      Nic - 2012-04-04 13:10

Lionel you don't know how much I'm looking forward to it and it won't be a close one either.

      paul.ramncwana - 2012-04-04 13:22

@Rene I'm still waiting for you to come wash my dishes you and your friend Jimmy NZ. lol

      Lionel - 2012-04-04 13:29

@Rene,go read again,I said SOME,not all but SOME!!!!

      Justice - 2012-04-04 14:13

A true gentleman and a top quality south african rugby supporter...!!

      Saffa - 2012-04-04 18:02

Saffa, are you jealous of Sonja's boobs?

      Saffa - 2012-04-04 20:11

Kyk ek le eerder op Sonja as op sterwe

  • Bootman - 2012-04-04 10:06

It seems Allister Coetzee was unhappy with his center pairing of Jean de Villiers and Brock Harris.

      Lionel - 2012-04-04 10:18

lol@Bootman, drives me insane when I see Harris in that backline!!!Still brings back memories when we played the Brumbies at Newlands maybe two years ago when he was in the backs and passed the ball only to be intercepted by George Smith who scored the winning try!!!!

      Stormkaap - 2012-04-04 13:42

Maybe Brok should watch Coenie Oosthuisen and learn how to step as well..!

  • Erik - 2012-04-04 10:07

Great move!!!!! Such great news!!!! Frans Malherbe is very good and makes an impact at rucktime, scrums and in general. Goodluck Stormers and also all the other South African Teams!! Backing Stormers, Bulls and sharks to win!!!!

  • Saffa - 2012-04-04 10:25

Ok folk, just putting this out there. Brok Harris IMHO, is a seriously underrated player. He will never be 'world class', but he is certainly an above average scrummager, defender and physical presence on the field. I also lose the plot when Brok plays 12 or 13...BUT, he is in that channel DUE to the defensive system used by the Stormers - it is true. He has saved our bacon many times because he is in that channel....doodvatte. Yes, I agree, the man has weaknesses, but his work rate can never be questioned. I would actually like to find stats on this somewhere. Brok (like him or dislike him) is an integral part of the Stormers forwards success IMHO. I would rather have him in my team, than in the opposing team....thats just me. He has also bee so overplayed the last few seasons (80 mins every game without fail) that the THIS season he deserves a few rests - and Malherbe is MORE than equipped to step up.

      pieter.thefuture - 2012-04-04 10:37

I agree fully, though it is frustrating to see him in the backline in an attack, his defence is very good, and he plays there cause the game plan and the coach tells him to be there, if that was not the case he would be playing vodacom cup and not super rugby

      Lionel - 2012-04-04 10:37

Hello Saffa:):):),Brok is a great guy,we actually live in the same neighbourhood and he makes time with the people...tick in my book!!!! If that is the reason why Brok is there then so be it but what about throwing skip passes.....LOL

      Saffa - 2012-04-04 10:57

Hi @Lionel - lol, yes. Brok can often be seen shopping for his wife at Cape Gate.....

      Saffa - 2012-04-04 11:05

and always in the csweeties aisles as well...hehehehe.

      Lionel - 2012-04-04 11:13

lol@Saffa,the sweeties are for their new born heheehehehe

      Bootman - 2012-04-04 11:30

Saffa I doubt anyone here is questioning Brok's work ethic or his likeability. I mean, if the guy does the shopping in his household, he's a better man than I am. I don't think Brok is a bad player at all. He certainly holds his own in the front row and has given a few "international" props a hard time. He does however tend to loiter in the backline on occasion. Now............whether thats part of the gameplan, I don't know but as far as I'm concerned, I would prefer to see backs in backline.

      Jason - 2012-04-04 11:41

Agree fully with your comments. My only gripe with brok is he often seems to hog the ball in the back line by not passing it out and preferring to take it up.

      Koos - 2012-04-04 12:07

Tipiese Stormer. Will never be world class.

      Saffa - 2012-04-04 12:13

@Koos - tipiese Bull, will never have ANY class (not worldly or otherwise)

  • royalshaun - 2012-04-04 11:41

Think its a great team. They are all key players, just think Peter Grant should be give more oppurtunity to kick and players with skills like Bryan Habana Gio Aplon and Juan de Jongh should be used more. Http://www.twitter.com/chancemania

  • verweyc - 2012-04-04 11:42

Basically the same team that have beaten the Bulls, as I do rate them as our biggest opposition in the competition I do believe that the Stormers can take the game, with 5 or more. Hopefully the Bulls have recovered from last weekend and will have the better of the Crusaders to improve the SA team’s changes come the play-out rounds. Sharks should have a good chance to beat the Canes in their own backyard, but I am afraid it will be another dark weekend for the Lions supporters.

      Jason - 2012-04-04 14:41

If the Stormers go into the game with the same ferocity that they had against the Bulls then we will win!

      Saffa - 2012-04-04 15:39

@Jasoneye How's it going with your 11 chins fatso?

  • paul.ramncwana - 2012-04-04 12:15

This is a strong team you know whats funny we never even played our strongest team against the Bulls. hahahahahah

  • Lance - 2012-04-04 14:50

Frighteningly fierce and athletic forward pack ! (Whole team actually)..just let Grant do more kicking, his average is rated better than M.Steyns and with the roof closed he will punish them ! Go Stormers !
