Fouché blow for Bulls

Pretoria - Bulls flyhalf Louis Fouché has injured his knee ligaments and will be out of rugby for at least six months. He picked up the injury in the Vodacom Bulls win over the Kings in Pretoria at the weekend.

According to Bulls team doctor, Org Strauss, an operation is needed after Fouché ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL).

He will undergo surgery next week.

Fouché will join Pierre Spies, who has a bicep injury and Arno Botha, who is recovering from a knee injury, for a six month stint on the sideline.

In other long-term injury news for the Bulls, Cornell Hess is five months away from action, but Paul Willemse could return to the training field in a week following successful rehab after his operation.

Lionel Mapoe will return in three months after he recovers from his shoulder injury.

Meanwhile, on a positive note, the Bulles will welcome back Wiaan Liebenberg, Hencus van Wyk and Ruan Steenkamp back within this week after recovering from their respective injuries.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
