    Fans elated at Deysel return

    2015-02-18 13:25

Cape Town - Rugby fans have cherished the return of Sharks flank Jean Deysel to Super Rugby after the burly blonde returned from playing in Japan.

Deysel joined the Durban-based team in 2007 and then left to ply his trade in Japan for Toyota Verblitz.  But when Sharks coach Gary Gold asked Deysel to consider a return to the franchise, it was an easy decision.

He played off the bench in last weekend’s 35-29 loss to the Cheetahs and made an immediate impact, but admits that the butterflies were there.

    Sport24 readers voiced their approval:

Richardson Mzaidume: 'In a way Jean Deysel's statements have ironic twist in them. He's saying Japanese rugby is not physical enough and yet Japan will join Super Rugby from 2016. I wonder then if Japan will be able to cope with physical demands of Super Rugby. As South Africans we are also happy to have you back, Jean.'

Leon E Young: 'And we've missed you Juan Deysel, you simply the best!I'm glad you back,go prove to HM you the best!'

Tyronne Jardim: "Great to have you back Jean !!!.....he will get a starting place this weekend with Kanko coming off the bench .....Alberts still to make his way back as well ....Marcell also had a great game ......Sharks to win by 5-7 points this weekend...sorry Lions but this is not the Sharks CC team."

And finally..... Bootman Daniels: "My favourite players of all time are Juan (sic) Deysel, Juan De Villiers, Jean De Jongh and Jean Smith."

The rugby faithful has spoken, it's good to have you back Jean.
