Cape Town - The Crusaders have beaten a brave Cheetahs team in their Vodacom Super Rugby clash in Christchurch on Saturday.

The Crusaders won 28-21 after leading 11-3 at half-time.

The Crusaders scored three tries through wing Sean Maitland, centre Robbie Fruean and fullback Israel Dagg. Flyhalf Tom Taylor was on target with two conversions and three penalties.

The Cheetahs replied with two tries by flyhalf Johan Goosen and centre Robert Ebersohn. Goosen added a further conversion and three penalties for a personal haul of 16 points.

The Crusaders picked up four points for their victory, but stayed in fourth position in the New Zealand Conference. They did however move up to seventh in the Overall standings.

The Cheetahs left Christchurch with a single point for losing by seven or fewer points, but remained bottom of the South African Conference, but moved up to 13th spot overall.
In next weekend's Round 6 action, the Crusaders travel to Johannesburg to play the Lions, while the Cheetahs are in action against the Hurricanes in Wellington.
