Cheetahs 'worst in 3 years'

Cape Town - Cheetahs coach Naka Drotské says their performance against the Lions was the worst by them in three years.

The Lions stunned the Cheetahs 21-20 in Bloemfontein on Saturday after flyhalf Marnitz Boshoff kicked a last minute drop goal.

The Cheetahs were heavy favourites to win against a team making their return to the competition after missing out at the expense of the Kings last year.

The home side dominated in the possession and territory stakes, but failed to finish off numerous opportunities.

"Everything went wrong. There are no positives. None," a disgruntled Drotské told the Volksblad website.

"We created a lot of opportunities for tries, but we couldn't finish off, especially in the first half."

The Cheetahs next host the Bulls on Friday (19:10 kick-off).
