Cheetahs shake off the rust

Cape Town - The Cheetahs thrashed Shimlas 66-19 at Free State University, while their second-choice side lost 21-19 to Griquas' Vodacom Cup side on Friday.

The Cheetahs scored four unanswered tries to take a 26-0 lead at the break, and while the Cheetahs scored six more tries after half-time, a rash of changes allowed Shimlas to score three of their own.

The Cheetahs' next pre-season match is against the Pumas in Parys on Saturday, February 1.
