Bloemfontein - Although the Cheetahs have been in discussion with his agent, it remains to be seen what Johan Goosen's decision is regarding his future.
With reports doing the rounds that the Springbok flyhalf is set to announce his departure to France, Rugby365 reports that Cheetahs assistant coach Hawies Fourie confirmed that they have not heard anything from the player or his agent.
"I have also seen the reports that he will make a call in the next few days, but more than that I don't know," Fourie told the website.
"We are also still waiting to hear what his decision is," he added.
Goosen, whose contract with the Bloemfontein outfit expires at the end of the Currie Cup season, flew to France in March to explore various options, with French Top14 clubs Racing Metro and Toulon.
It is widely speculated that Goosen's decision hinges on his selection to Heyneke Meyer's Springbok squad for their Incoming Tour in June, followed by the Rugby Championship in August.
Should Goosen decide to leave, the Cheetahs will be shorn of two pivots following the news that Riaan Smit will further his career abroad.
Earlier, Sport24 reported that the Cheetahs are eager to lure flyhalf Sias Ebersohn back to Bloemfontein, but the former Cheetahs No. 10 has yet to indicate whether he will return home, saying that he chooses to focus on his career at current employers, the Western Force.
