Cape Town - The Chiefs, the defending Super Rugby champions, among the most impressive Round 2 winners last weekend, have been given a boost ahead of their Round 3 clash with the Cheetahs, the first New Zealand versus South African match of the season.
According to the NZ Super Rugby website, having taken down the Highlanders away, the Chiefs return home to welcome a Cheetahs side beaten by the Sharks, but they remain an outfit that heralded their intentions again to be an attacking force.
The Chiefs will hope to welcome some heavy artillery up front, with hookers Hika Elliot and Mah Schwalger standing good chances of returning.
Further good news sees Richard Kahui beginning his final steps to a comeback from his shoulder injury, with the midfielder beginning to test his troublesome shoulder with tackling drills this week.
The Chiefs will host the Cheetahs on Saturday, March 2 in Hamilton. Kick-off is at 08:35 SA time.
