Carter to start against Lions

Johannesburg - Dan Carter will get his first start of the Super Rugby season after being named in the Crusaders side to face the Lions in Johannesburg on Saturday.

Kick-off is at 17:05 SA time.

Carter was named among the substitutes in the seven-time Super Rugby champions' last match against the Cheetahs in Christchurch and came on as a replacement in the second half. It was his first match back since suffering a groin injury during last year's Rugby World Cup.

In other changes to the team that beat the Cheetahs 28-21, Tom Taylor replaces Ryan Crotty at inside centre. Wyatt Crockett comes in at loosehead prop for Ben Franks and George Whitelock will replace brother Luke at blindside flank.
